Yeah thats my two guesses what other Shredder could it be... Movie Shredder in 1/4 would be bad ass. I have a feeling its that cause back in March Randy said he wanted to do 1/4 Splinter and Shredder from the 1990 movie.

Speaking of NECA turtles, is there a good way to spot differences between the authentic NECA comic versions of the turtles, and the knock offs that pop up on eBay?

There's several threads dedicated to NECA bootleg spotting.

Yer!

*annoyingly, authentic ones came in those tubes too. Rule of thumb, if it comes with a piece of sidewalk - it's legit.

forgive me if this was posted elsewhere on the forum, but has anyone seen these? I haven't seen an announcement for them, and just came across them on the EA website. New NECA TMNT head knockers and bobbleheads releasing this Fall.

Price listed for Raph and Mikey head knockers are case prices:
http://www.entertainmentearth.com/pr...A#.V7C-r_krKUk

Here are Leo and Donnie bobbleheads.
http://www.entertainmentearth.com/pr...A#.V7C-yvkrKUk

I'm not interested in these due to the over saturation of classic stylized turtles from many other companies. But it fits my thought that NECA is just trying to do any and all TMNT in whatever scale they can in the hopes the licensing loosens up a bit for the adult collector stuff.

*shrug*

Remind me a bit of TMNT bubble bath bottles in the 90s

I'm not interested in those at all, but I sure hope they do well. NECA's efforts towards the TMNT franchise have been enormous, and they've earned the right to cash in with stuff like that. I just hope Nickelodeon realizes that there are many other companies that could do just what Playmates does, but there are very few that can bring the excellence and care of NECA.

I dunno - Playmates are huge. As kids we didn't really care they were a bit crappy, they were cheap and very robust toys and sold in the millions. Is there any other mainstream toy company who have an eye for detail and mass market expertise? I don't think NECA are - are they?

Playmates make kids toys and mass market. That is not NECA's business model. They aim for the adult collector.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that NECA could replace Playmates in the kids market, but I just don't see how keeping NECA from producing 7'' adult collector's figures is benefiting the franchise. Playmates is just not interested or is not capable of competing with existing companies in that area. Their attempts are so incredibly frustrating.

Their goal isn't to benefit the franchise. They're protecting their (real or perceived) profits.

Playmates is, of course. But Nickelodeon should probably reconsider the terms of their agreement to guarantee that all niches are covered. There's a considerable fanbase now in their twenties and thirties that aren't buying Playmates products, but would surely get NECA's. Just look at the second market for their Mirage and Arcade releases, it's insane.

Seriously, if anyone can gather a list of names, I'll email every last one of 'em... I can be very convincing.

So now that we've seen a couple Neca box sets, anyone think we might be seeing more?

Obviously repaints of the Arcade figures are an easy option for them, but I'd also be very interested in the Movie 1 figures in this scale for a box set.

I just hope they can stick with this selling on their website like the new Shredder box set.

Yep. Personally I'm only grabbing the mirage figures.

Maybe next year at NYCC or SDCC they'll give us a supporting characters box set with an April repack, Casey, Splinter, and Renet?

Of course, this is all just pure speculation.
