For the #1 RI D sketch (1:50) I didn't end up selling any of the 6 I got because all the sketches were very different and the price-point for selling them wasn't high enough to warrant me selling 6 different pieces of original art. Had all the sketches been nearly the same with only minor variations I would have kept just one for my collection and sold the rest. On the flip side of that, those were only 1:50 variants so there was good enough quantity available that they were relatively affordable at $250-400. If the #22 RI B 1:100 turns out to have every cover being very original (like the #1 RI D), couple that with it being a 100 copy incentive (= lower quantity), then the price point could be much more favorable to warrant selling them. It's a wait and see game for sure but that's why I buy 400 copies instead of just buying a single copy of RI B outright for $200 pre-sale. If I end up keeping all the RI B 1:100 covers all I have to do is sell all 400 copies at the price I paid and I break even on cost. However, I've actually gained 40 copies of the 10 copy incentive and 4 copies of the 100 copy incentive at no additional cost by doing this. There's a lot of risk and overhead to doing this and it's not right for everyone. If the issue isn't popular then I'm eating a lot of cost. It's just the way I choose to do things so that I can afford to keep my collection going. By doing it this way, collecting every cover eventually pays for itself and every copy is "free" in the end. The "end" being when I am able to offload all the copies....and this can take years. |

Gotcha. And I'd have considered it as well if I wasn't trying to save for San Diego this year...
But as noted, if you do sell at least one, please bear me in mind

Well the numbers before the titles are their sales rank; ie TMNT #22 was the 78th highest-selling comic in May. The highest selling was X-Men #1 with over 177,000 sales. Obviously some of the lesser-known series from the big guys don't sell nearly that much, but the big name characters from Marvel and DC seem to float around anywhere from 50-100k (and up).

It's a fantastic number for TMNT, and IDW. Their two biggest selling books are "My Little Pony" and "TMNT".

The micro-series numbers seem down around 4-5 K. The series is tied directly into the ongoing and just and gives the reader a chance to get to know a character better not to mention just as interesting.

I hope by the end of the 'City Fall' arc, we reach 40k because it really deserves it. More than any other comic, this is one BIG Event that deserves recognition!

So apparently the hype for City Fall #22 has really helped with sales
27k!!!! http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomi...3/2013-05.html Unfortunately sales for #23 dropped to say the least 17.7K a little drop to say the least... but some pretty high sales to say the least. But #22 had the second highest sales sense its launch(1# is the obvious number 1)

Really odd to see #22 with such high sales and #23 drop by 10k. I don't think I'll ever understand had the comic industry works.

It was all because of the Eastman Sketch covers. I am sure that shops that generally order less than 100 bumped up their orders to make a few bucks

I know several of us, myself included, specifically bought 100 copies to get the sketch cover. Let alone all the shops and sites that did so for resale purposes.

I know Rich sold his dirt cheap, I bought four copies of Cover A from him and 4 copies of Cover B, one of each for myself and the three people who get their comics from me.
Rat King-- what was the ratio of each cover to the hundred in that box you had to order to get the sketch cover? Also, if you're looking to help out international buyers, it is better to put together sets of four or five (or more) consecutive issues since you actually save on shipping when you ship that many books together.

Disappointing that City Fall didn't create an actual jump in readers, but those are still healthy sales. The Villain Micro series numbers are starting to get ugly... although B&R just might help a bit
Very excited to see how New Animated Adventures sold this month. |

It might be artificial sales but its still sales nonetheless. If it keeps the series healthy does it matter if one guy buys 100 issues?
