Show? Last I heard it was just the TV movie. Have they already confirmed a show too?

Happy maker... when you find a really good deal at a store.

Have been having a hard time finding new jeans since I really don't care for the styles that are "the thing" right now, and been for too long.

Last minute before leaving Target I turned back to check their clearance. Found me a pair that are for the most part what I'm looking for. (A little slimmer in the legs than I'd prefer, but hopefully they'll relax over time.)

They did not have a clearance sticker on them so I really wasn't sure if they were simply misplaced so I made sure to take them to a price check... which then claimed it didn't recognize it. Hmmm.

Working in a store, I know damn well then that probably means they are old enough that they've been removed from the system. And in my store, if we are able to locate them, they'd be pulled and returned to the vendor. Or sold to a lucky customer for pretty cheap.

Soooo I made my case to the cashier (after apologizing for being "that customer"), telling her they came from clearance, the price check doesn't recognize it, and that there are two other pairs but they don't have tags. (Mine did but no clearance sticker.) So after she couldn't find it in the system a nearby manager let me have them for $6.98. (There was no regular price on them, but similar of that brand on Target's site suggests they run around $30.)

I've a few happy-makers.

1) ceiling fans are the BEST.
2) Inexpensive second-hand free weights are the BOMB.
3) As are free-cycled functioning turntables from the 1950s. Powered by hand crank and everything.

House is cooler since we had the air conditioner on and it didn't start dripping right away and managed to cool the house before it started dripping. Also got a new air conditioner for Dad's room since the other one didn't even have a remote to it so now he's nice and cool.

Out with my mom for lunch and talking about my nephew. I think she was trying to say something about "monster shirts" (?), but she accidentally said "his little monster sh*ts"...

Which is NOT a word I would ever hear come out of her mouth of unless it's a slip of the tongue like this. And given he turned 1 year last week he is in a phase right now where it is actually quite accurate, as he is, in all honesty, yes, a little monster sh*t part of the time.

Happy-maker- a week or so ago I was on ebay browsing around the dollhouse stuff and found several miniature books that caught my eye for my turtle lair. A book on bonsai, one on Geisha arts, and a copy of The Art of War for Splinter's room, a book on Samurai swordsmanship for Leo, and a Walking Dead comic book for Mikey's room. And my personal faves: two miniature TMNT comics! One is even titled "How It All Began" and shows the FW turtles with April. They arrived in the mail today. So many possibilities for these....

Slightly envious of your tiny things. Those sound pretty cool!

Happy maker that I was going to post last night, prior to my internet failing me:

Well I dunno if the meds my fish is currently being given will necessarily be a cure all (though she's only half done), but so far one hoped for (but not actually expected) thing seems to have come true. Knock on wood, it seems to have possibly cured the buoyancy (presumably swim bladder) issue she's had for quite a while.

No amount of fishy fiber or trying to be better on the maintenance seemed to ever do anything for it. After a while I figured it was permanent damage, but she'd always remained upright (at top of tank) and eventually I found that keeping an amount of salt in the tank seemed to aid her a bit so she was still doing okay and still able to get to the bottom when she wanted (if with a little effort); and most importantly not seeming miserable or anything.

A couple days into the meds and she was able to rest easily near the bottom again. Some years ago she'd sleep a night basically sitting on her big fanned tail, leaning into (but not quite touching) the corner of the tank. Already saw her back in that position once (albeit not in the corner).

I feel kinda bad now. Had I known of this medicine and that this issue may have been bacterial related I'd have treated her so long ago.

Don't sweat it. Fish are tricky since they are in a completely contained and seperate environment, and we know so little about their behavior and pshysiology compared to most air-breathing pets. I'm still learning stuff about cats, and they are much more like us!

I had a nice walk to my internship after a brief nap following my class today.

Then I finally got my birthday card from my grandmother open.

I saved the gift cards I got from Christmas so I could use them in August, and now I have an extra $25. So...I guess Grandma's just getting me a bunch of TMNT comics in a couple months . And there will probably be at least a little bit left over.

Mixture of both a gear grinder and a happy maker:

Just finished washing a load of bath towels.
I toss them on the floor to fold them, and my adorable cat curls up in the middle of the pile.

She looks cute.

And is also covering my newly cleaned towels with her fur.
She's lucky she's so damn cute...

Krang Trial/Dimension X

That's like...eight comics? Ten if I want to do Karai's Path. So that's at least $41...I think I'll just go for the main 8 I want.

It'll still be a good while. I have them in a drawer right where I can find them.

I also got a video from my mom of one of the kittens getting groomed by Bubba - and trying to play through it. It's exactly what I was hoping for by this time, and just what those kittens needed.

I was asked to join a Doctor Who cast that I have listened to since I started watching the show. I had a really fun time on it and can't wait to do more.
