Power Rangers

I'm a little bit surprised the Power Rangers aren't there, when they have been almost nonstop on television since 1993.

They would need a wider and more prolific multi-media presence, I think. I have to believe that there will be some Power Rangers movement in the near future from that generation's nostalgia boom, but I don't think the I.P. has had enough presence to warrant all of the small penny sales that allow properties to fall on a list like this. That would be small stickers on everything, school binders, pencil toppers, the I.P. appearing on a grocery aisle item. All of the small stuff that really bolsters standard "action figure" sales to put a property over the top.

An action figure line is huge, obviously. But I'd want the property that's getting printed on a Cheerio's box or on a 3-muskateers wrapper.

I haven't seen much 1990's nostalgia. I thought it would kick in around 2010 (usually 20 years later).

Compare that to 1970's nostalgia in the 1990's, with the ABBA revival. Or how about the early 2000's, when 1980's had kicked in, and you heard Alphaville and the Twisted Sister on the radio almost every day (I know it's a different time now) and we had new He-Man and TMNT cartoons.

I don't understand how everyone here is so surprised that Mickey and Minnie is the #1 brand...have you guys ever been to a store? They are literally on pretty much ANY product you could possibly think of, a much wider range of stuff than literally any other brand on this list.

Yeah that's true - there is a unique gap in the fandom across time for this stuff. Or maybe Power Rangers wasn't as strong an IP as we think, meanwhile vintage Jurassic Park toys are selling like crazy on the aftermarket. -shrugs-

I think most people are surprised that it was branded so specifically, as opposed to "Disney IP" or "Disneyanna".

Would/will be interesting to compare this year's score since that one will be all on 'Rise' alone with no 2012 involved.

Ouch that 2016-2017 sales drop though. What was that about. Less interest after the second movie flopped?
Actually, at least one official product based on the 2012–2017 Nickelodeon Cartoon was released in 2019. But I don't think it's a big deal.

Hysterical!
I didn't know it was a show before this, but now I guess it's obvious it would be.

Reading the replies and parents defending the show, it seems the author of that article is an ignorant idiot.

I simply can't imagine why any parent wouldn't say "It's great!" about literally any show that keeps their little brats distracted for more than five minutes.

No, I'm sure they said it's great because it is, not because it shuts the kids up so Mommy and Daddy can go smoke joints in the garage and get some peace and quiet for a second.

Yeah, I'd say so.
My 5 year old watches the show. The parent reviews are on point.

P.J. Mask too. These are just Nick and Disney Jr shows.
