Things they've taken away from the internet in recent years
* The dislike button on Youtube.
* Message boards from IMDB, specific to movies. Anything else?

AIM and YIM. It was how I kept in touch with some of the Dromers here.
All I can think of at the moment since I just woke up. Haha. Will come back if I remember anything else.

Getting rid of the youtube dislike button was such a dumb idea. Now you can't tell which videos are clickbait without actually watching the video or reading the comments.

I'll never get over hating that most news articles no longer have a comment option.
I mean to a point I get it, people have way too many fights, but I hate when you want to say something about some incident or whatever and you're shut out from any kind of comment or discussion. A lot of the fun of the internet has disappeared in general. So much of what's out there is just social media-based stuff anymore. A lot of the fun kind of things to play around with either just don't exist, now charge money, or is utter crap that isn't worth it (or the site itself is questionable). It's no wonder that despite the conflicting views on the AI stuff, esp AI generated art, people are having fun with it, because it's along the lines of the sort of things we used to have more of. When sites like i-am-bored.com still existed and JibJab had a number of free videos you could make, and plenty of other online "toys" were a thing... those were the days. Probably MySpace, or part of it, at least for me. I haven’t been able to access my MySpace page for years.

A lot of the freedom we all got when the Internet was still young.
