Honestly, as long as Kevin remains the friendly, affable guy he is and keeps putting out good stuff (such as his IDW work), there'll be no love lost among the fanbase. He's happy to be involved and he's always very positive about the franchise - that's just what you have to keep in mind when he gives something a ringing endorsement. The fans mostly already know this, and I don't see this movie doing any reputation damage to him personally. (As it shouldn't.) Quote:

What if his cameo is him as a Comic Book artist, He sees the Turtles, And then started drawing them and made a comic about them?
I recall the alternate ending from the 1990 movie, where April and this kid, showed drawings to an owner of a comic book company, to make a comic book out of them. So what if Kevin Eastman plays himself, And how he got the inspiration for making the TMNT comics was, He witnessed the actual Turtles? |

You have to remember that Kevin is always going to be optimistic about this. He's not going to outright say that the movie sucks or that there's nothing in there that fans will like. Granted, he probably genuinely liked what he saw when he was involved with the movie, but even if everything isn't great, he isn't going to outright say that. He's going to let the fans judge for themselves.
I'm not optimistic about this movie at all, but I won't be able to tell for sure until I see it.

Matrix as influence?
Taking that as a huge grain of salt, but yeah... Not sure if that would work well. The most memorable fight scenes in the movies takes place in the Matrix, where physics defying moves makes sense. If the turtles do too much stuff that defies the laws of physics too much or does things that looks too impossible, the CGI might be to GC looking, or ending in the uncanny valley. Like what happened with the Hulk in the Ang Lee movie they animated hulk way too light weighted compared to his size, add that with his comic appropriate way of fast travel, it made Hulk look weightless and floaty as the animation was not properly done when it came to how gravity works and how to animate a character to fit their size and weight. It's even a "how not to do" example in animation class. But, Kevin might be meaning the cinematography or the intensity of the fight scenes, and not the moves used in the fight scenes. |

I think the fact that he is always so appreciative of everything/everyone and positive all the time is AWESOME : ) He's shown nothing but class imo...But there is a reason why everyone isn't jumping for joy with Bay and Liebesman being involved. Its written all over this forum lol. Its understandable. I happen to think they will do a great job but that's me. I believe in redemption, Sadly in this day n age with the internet and all.. it doesn't take much to ruin your reputation. In fact.. sometimes you dont have to do anything wrong lol. The media LOVES negativity. They thrive on it. But luckily there are people out there that think like you and understand that people screw up sometimes. I have 100% faith in everyone involved with this reboot. Im hearing that the trailer will be released tomorrow. I hope its true. Last edited by Puddinpop; 04-28-2014 at 05:38 PM. |

Why does this whole thing remind me of George Lucas.
You can't complain about the guy or doubt him or anything because 'without him there would be no Star Wars', and yet he does terrible 'Special Editions with CGI, Greedo shooting first, and so on' while not releasing the actual, original versions (except if you can find the box set from long ago on DVD where they were they were listed as just 'The Bonus Features' with picture quality about as good as a laserdisc). Also, first The Raid Redemption and now The Matrix? C'mon Eastman! Maybe I am alone in this, but the fight scenes in The Raid/Fist of Legend & the ones in The Matrix are pretty different from each other. what bothers me is the the RAID, and the MATRIX, are on two very opposite ends of the 'fight choreography spectrum'. the RAID, is brutal, high impact, close quarter combat, where as the MATRIX, was an uber-stylized, wire heavy, ballet. both styles have their merits, but its one or the other...i realize we are talking about fictional mutant turtles, and with that comes a certain suspension of disbelief, but you cant have both. and if they try it may end up looking silly. imagine if Jason Bourne beat up some dude on a rooftop using close quarter, brutal kali stick techniques...and then floated away to the next building...it would be silly and completely pull you out of the moment.
