Who said anything about hating Kevin? I said that it will hurt them trust wise with fans. This is why people are upset about Liebesman being the director. Bc his films in the past were not impressive. So when it comes to the fans not trusting him with this film, Its not for nothing. It's his past films that have caused.. distrust , and skepticism. Will he have a carrier still? Of course he will. But when you put out crap work it hurts your credibility. That's all im saying. Kevin has made his mistakes in the past as well. There's a reason that people take his word with a grain of salt. If Liebesman does a terrible job with this movie its unlikely that hell get a second chance.

oh hi there

Honestly, as long as Kevin remains the friendly, affable guy he is and keeps putting out good stuff (such as his IDW work), there'll be no love lost among the fanbase. He's happy to be involved and he's always very positive about the franchise - that's just what you have to keep in mind when he gives something a ringing endorsement. The fans mostly already know this, and I don't see this movie doing any reputation damage to him personally. (As it shouldn't.)

Well... not necessarily. Lots of directors have put out ill-received or outright terrible movies and continue to have strong careers. M. Night Shyamalan has become the go-to Hollywood punching bag, and he has two new movies in development. Ultimately whether or not they make a profit is the only thing that matters - and even then, having a few money-makers under your belt can give you second chances even if you fail in the future.

What if his cameo is him as a Comic Book artist, He sees the Turtles, And then started drawing them and made a comic about them?

I recall the alternate ending from the 1990 movie, where April and this kid, showed drawings to an owner of a comic book company, to make a comic book out of them.

So what if Kevin Eastman plays himself, And how he got the inspiration for making the TMNT comics was, He witnessed the actual Turtles?

That would be really cool actually! I could also see it being funny if maybe he briefly meets one of them and then tries to do a comic about it or is the "crazy guy" that tries to convience everyone that there are giant turtles underground

Don't know if it's true or not, but IMDb says Kevin Eastman will have a cameo as a doctor. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1291150/...item=tr2036030

You have to remember that Kevin is always going to be optimistic about this. He's not going to outright say that the movie sucks or that there's nothing in there that fans will like. Granted, he probably genuinely liked what he saw when he was involved with the movie, but even if everything isn't great, he isn't going to outright say that. He's going to let the fans judge for themselves.

I'm not optimistic about this movie at all, but I won't be able to tell for sure until I see it.

Matrix as influence?

Taking that as a huge grain of salt, but yeah... Not sure if that would work well. The most memorable fight scenes in the movies takes place in the Matrix, where physics defying moves makes sense. If the turtles do too much stuff that defies the laws of physics too much or does things that looks too impossible, the CGI might be to GC looking, or ending in the uncanny valley.

Like what happened with the Hulk in the Ang Lee movie they animated hulk way too light weighted compared to his size, add that with his comic appropriate way of fast travel, it made Hulk look weightless and floaty as the animation was not properly done when it came to how gravity works and how to animate a character to fit their size and weight. It's even a "how not to do" example in animation class.

But, Kevin might be meaning the cinematography or the intensity of the fight scenes, and not the moves used in the fight scenes.

Hi!! how are you dude? I didn't say he wouldn't. There's a reason why Bay is seemingly the most hated Director online these days. And its not bc of what he hasn't done yet. and what I meant by "terrible". I meant financially. Your right, that is what matters at the end of the day. I love Eastman and I do take his word when he says this film will be fantastic.
I think the fact that he is always so appreciative of everything/everyone and positive all the time is AWESOME : ) He's shown nothing but class imo...But there is a reason why everyone isn't jumping for joy with Bay and Liebesman being involved. Its written all over this forum lol. Its understandable. I happen to think they will do a great job but that's me. I believe in redemption, Sadly in this day n age with the internet and all.. it doesn't take much to ruin your reputation. In fact.. sometimes you dont have to do anything wrong lol. The media LOVES negativity. They thrive on it. But luckily there are people out there that think like you and understand that people screw up sometimes. I have 100% faith in everyone involved with this reboot. Im hearing that the trailer will be released tomorrow. I hope its true.

Why does this whole thing remind me of George Lucas.

You can't complain about the guy or doubt him or anything because 'without him there would be no Star Wars', and yet he does terrible 'Special Editions with CGI, Greedo shooting first, and so on' while not releasing the actual, original versions (except if you can find the box set from long ago on DVD where they were they were listed as just 'The Bonus Features' with picture quality about as good as a laserdisc).

Also, first The Raid Redemption and now The Matrix? C'mon Eastman!

Maybe I am alone in this, but the fight scenes in The Raid/Fist of Legend & the ones in The Matrix are pretty different from each other.

you are NOT alone.

what bothers me is the the RAID, and the MATRIX, are on two very opposite ends of the 'fight choreography spectrum'.

the RAID, is brutal, high impact, close quarter combat, where as the MATRIX, was an uber-stylized, wire heavy, ballet. both styles have their merits, but its one or the other...i realize we are talking about fictional mutant turtles, and with that comes a certain suspension of disbelief, but you cant have both. and if they try it may end up looking silly.

imagine if Jason Bourne beat up some dude on a rooftop using close quarter, brutal kali stick techniques...and then floated away to the next building...it would be silly and completely pull you out of the moment.

Exactly. And no disrespect to Mr. Eastman but his quotes have a lot less validity to them if he doesn't know that those are two pretty different things. Which again further makes me go 'okay, does this guy really know what he is talking about on this upcoming film or is he just pulling the 'hey, you know this film so let me just say it for the press!'

And also, you know what you get when you do Matrix stuff in a bad way? You get crap like Bulletproof Monk.

Well to his defense he didn't exactly say that the fight scenes were like the matrix. He named those films as benchmarks, and that bc of films like that they felt like they had to up the ante from previous TMNT films to compete with the action movies of today. At least that's what I got out of it. I hope we don't get " Matrix style" fight sequences in the new movie. Id rather have TMNT style fights. Judging by the stunt doubles and fight teams involved, I think it looks promising
