Nice work there on the cheaper deal, spit. Weird though, I thought you had to outbid someone by 49 cents to jump them.

Only if it's the current high bid.

In this case, the winner had a high bid of $18.01, but he then placed an insurance bid for $21.01 (although it was unknown at the time how high this bid was). Because he was bidding against himself, $18.01 was still the high bid. Spitfire then bid $20.00. Because the winning bidder's older bid was higher than $20, even though just by a penny, that's still enough to outbid Spitfire. And that is why you should never bid in .00 amounts.

So I finally find a decently priced Bishop figure MoC (I knew I should have picked it up back when there were 20 at Toys R' Us, but I wanted Rat King instead...), and it was going for like, 2-something with a few hours left. I bid at the last two seconds and I'm like, yes, score! Then... I get outbid at the last second by FIFTY CENTS!?! Blarrrrrgh!

I hate eBay.
