The Racoons Holiday Special (2019)

Quote:
Get ready to return to the Evergreen Forest! The 1980s worldwide hit, The Raccoons, is back and destined to attract a brand new fan base while hitting the happy nostalgia button of the original audience. And the familiar faces are back! Led by the enthusiastic, adventure-seeking Bert Raccoon, join aardvark best-friend Cedric and racoon pals Ralph and Melissa as they navigate Bertís carefree attitude, all the while staying on-top of the scheming tycoon, aardvark business man, Cyril Sneer.

Apparently this news broke in summer of 2018, I'm only now finding out about it.

Hardly my first choice for an 80's cartoon to revive, but interesting none the less.

I remember the fans were pretty upset about the heavy metal cover of "Run With Us" (it dropped the F bomb a couple of times) as well as the song's use in Hobo With A Shotgun

Suddenly.

I remember this cartoon from a long ago. Can't say I was big fan of it, but it was amusing.

I grew up with it since it hit the Disney channel here in the US 33 years ago and this should be fun.

It was also a fixture on BBC television in the UK for decades

Yeah, ask anyone who grew up here in the 80s, they can probably still hum (or even sing) the theme music at the end heh.

I remember the original series being aired on Rte Two in Ireland in the early 90s. I wasnít a big fan, but it was a fun show to watch alright. This new revival sounds good.

Ugh... with these 80s cartoon remakes (i.e. Ducktales, 2012 TMNT when they depicted the 80s Turtles), the animation has taken a severe step back. I know it's cheaper for production purposes, but one would think that quality of the animation would have improved or at least been maintained considering the improvements in animation technology.

...Why do I have a feeling this cartoon is going to have political undertones soon, concerning the environment? ...I guess since almost every piece of media production has become politicized.
