Power Rangers is basically The Breakfast Club on drugs fighting Lady Gaga.

The Power Rangers movie was just a rendition of The Breakfast Club. BUT IT WAS SO GOOD

It got me curious so I'm finally watching Breakfast Club now to know what the fuss is all about.

It's a bunch of kids who got detention in Saturdays so far but I'm just 10 minutes in...

I sorta like it though some scenes are boring and others are just plain obnoxious.

I expected something more groundbreaking because people are talking about it.
Maybe on repeat viewings it'll be better.

But for now, it's a 5.5/10 from me.

Mechanics need work, but I do have fun with it. Only a level 2 right now. Some characters are hard to fight. I find it a bit of a challenge which keeps me coming back to it.


Saw the movie the other day. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Minor nitpicks here and there. Don't feel like getting into all that. Hated Goldar, and still not too keen on the suits.

2nd weekend out for Power Rangers turned 64% down from its debut just under 65 million in the USA/Canada market. China and Japan can turn the tide though. Perhaps teasing something close to the show with the Green Ranger will give it a Dark Knight box office return over what Batman Begins turn out?

No, the article said the possible equel could gain a money haul difference like how Begins got about 430 million, the sequel made more than twice as much. It was stating Power Rangers in a sequel might double and then some the original film's take. It was a big 'if'.

No, no chance. The Green Ranger is meaningless to regular audiences.

I did find the Green Ranger tease pretty pointless. What's the point in doing that, if they're not even willing to commit to showing who it would hypothetically be played by?

It'd be like Iron Man 1's after-the-credits scene just being Tony Stark walking into his living room and finding Nick Fury's eyepatch on his table. What are we supposed to take from that?

People thought a Power Ranger movie would do good in the year 2017? I mean nostalgia can only go so far. All the original fans from the 90's are adults and the young kids of today don't give a damn about Power Rangers.

Japan isn't a big enough market to matter. And the Chinese probably thoroughly associate the Power Rangers with the Japanese... and they hate the Japanese. I could be wrong but I would expect them to get very slim pickings in China... perhaps staggeringly low.

The only reason I went is because I was dragged there by my wife. Who was a big Power Rangers fan.

This is getting a sequel, they've built too much momentum in finally making Power Rangers cool again to give up so easily. Quote me on this.

thing is, even as a movie, it isn't exactly ground breaking. It feels like by the time the sequel rolls around it's like "Oh yeah, that's happening."

I don't see it. They'd probably be content with the movie giving the TV show (and the next 20 of them, doubtless) a shot in the arm.
