I haven't watched/read as much as most here, but here goes...
Mirage Comics Michelangelo Donatello Archie Comics Donatello Raphael Umeko (Ninjara) 1987 Series Raphael Michelangelo Casey Jones (I like crazy characters lol) Mona Lisa (I like smart-ass characters, hence my liking of Raph) Irma As an adult that revisited the series, I grew to like Donatello a lot. As a kid, I didn't think too much of him, just like with Leonardo, but Donatello was pretty entertaining. 2012 Series Karai Shinigami This version had my favorite incarnation of Leonardo period! I loved that he was such a dorky nerd! lol I loved Raphael for this series too. Getting down to it, my favorites kept jumping back and forth between the four so I'd have to say all four, but Leonardo is a definite. 1990 Movie Casey Jones Secret of the Ooze (1991) Donatello TMNT III (1993) Michelangelo TMNT (2007) Didn't have one |

This was hard to choose but
Mirage: Donnie because I like his approach to weirdness is "Oh shiny, let me poke it with a stick," and he genuinely goes out of his way to understand how something works instead of scoffing at it and how it had undermined the laws of physics. 87: April because she feels like a genuine New Yorker and her relationship with the turtles is more an ally of circumstance rather just someone who just greatly for saving her life multiple times. I think it just makes her funny. 2k3: Shredder. I love him more being a scheming bastard that tries manipulate Leo than him being a unstoppable a force of nature or just cartoon mustache twirling villain. 2012: Karai. She had so much going for her but she felt really underutilized. I just really like her from the get go especially when rewatching the series. They did her so wrong in the first 3 seasons and it still pisses me off to this day. Rise: I want to say Mikey, but Splinter is the one that really caught me by surprise. He made the show. I can't say which is my favorite from the IDW line because honestly so much stuff has happen since then

My answer is predictably uninteresting being Leo straight through... until you get to Rise, the only stopping block, where it's no fave. Grandma Karai might have at least been the most likeable in that one (aside from the odd grandma choice) had she actually existed in the show more.

As for other eras, for me, the only era of cartoons which isn’t Leatherhead for me is the ‘87 cartoon, where I prefer Don instead.

Leo is my favourite in all versions. I do love all the brothers though and one of my favourite aspects of the franchise is the way the brothers interact and complement each other's personalities. It is the family dynamic thay draws me in.

I'm just gonna exclude the Turtles, Splinter, April, Casey, Shredder and Karai for this because... They're in pretty much everything and it would be a boring list if I listed the same few characters over and over again.

Classic Cartoon:
Michelangelo My all time favorite version of him since other versions of him tend to grate on me or I feel he is under utilized. Sure his pizza obsession was grossly over the top and he had a weird suffer dude persona but I like him here for two reasons. 1. He isn't treated like the baby of the family 2. He isn't the "funny guy" I feel these two things really make adaptions of Michelangelo annoying (to me any way) where they make him this annoying little brother stereotype with exaggerated little brother characteristics obnoxious, annoying, ADHD, immature compared to the others, dependent or weaker emotionally and or physically. Or when they try to make him the "funny guy" he is usually not funny in a clever way and usually his humor makes him out to be stupid and or annoying. He usually fails at being being the funny guy. Michelangelo in the classic cartoon series was laid back and fun loving and enjoyed these aspects of his personality. He wasn't just stuck on hyper active he showed a range of emotions. Even though he was sometimes the "dumb one," I didn't feel it was as obnoxious as I thought other interpretations were. Other adaptions of him really hit this aspect of him too hard. I liked how he seemed the most extraverted of the turtles and wanting a normal life, I thought that made his situation particularly sad. He wasn't the greatest fighter of the bunch and was unfocused but instead of it being irritating to me, it made me feel for him. 2k3 TMNT Leonardo I really like this version of him. He is cool and collective but doesn't have a stick up his butt. He was talented and hardworking but still flawed. And he still seemed able to be a teenager and relax and have fun with his brothers. I think the 2k3 series treated Leonardo with more respect than the OT did. Some people say he was too OP and though I can see where they are coming from I thought that focus on him was good for his character rather than annoying. I also feel he is better than OT Leo, as an adult I find OT Leonardo a bit grating post season 3. I close second would be Donatello I really liked this version of Donatello. I didn't really watch 2k12 or Rise. 1990 movie TMNT: Raphael, Casey Jones (my favorite Casey Jones) Danny Second Movie: nobody 2007 CGI movie: nobody...maybe Karai? Rise: nobody
