My drawings from the 90s.
I've never posted my work in fan works before because I haven't done any TMNT-related work in years. But I was looking through some of my old drawings and thought I'd post some here just for the hell of it. My age ranges from 12 to 17 on all these drawings.
1990, 1992- copies of the cover of Mirage #22 I believe? 1995- based on the OT episode "Shredderville". There are some crazy elastic buildings in this one. 1993- based on the "Future Turtles" from the Archie comics. Why Raph is committing suicide, I don't know. And disregard the way-off perspective. 1994- "Invasion of the Krangazoids" homage. 1990- weird-eyed anime-ish April. 1992- gang of random tmnt characters. 1992- Turtles and Leatherhead. 1990- Casey Jones action figure. 1990- and the worst of the batch- Slash sketch. |

Those are very good. I especially love the Future Turtle skectch
Who didn't see that coming. The random group shot is also great. I disagree about Slash, I think that bizarre April is the worst.

You know, I think I still have a copy of an old VHS cover that your drew somewhere.
Edit: Oh! It must have loaded last on my computer, but that second drawing is the one I'm thinking of. I do think I still have a copy.

Sweet merciful God! Most of your old work is better than anything I could hope to do even today <.< I envy you.

Nope, I don't think that's it. I'm pretty sure what I had was in color.
But I can't seem to find any of my old TMNT-L days stuff. I don't think I would have tossed it all? Hmmm.

These may be what you're talking about. I drew these long ago when I had vhs tapes: In retrospect, the text placement and color is really bad on some of these..so hard to read. Thanks for the comments. Here are a few more of my drawings from the '90s: 1993- TMNT #6 cover. 1995- Star Trek TMNT. Way to go with the anatomy.. 1994- Leonardo and Karai. Either Leo's a giant, or Karai's a midget. Perspective much? |

The girl in the Star Trek image actually is a Mirage-inspired April. I know it's weird that the Turtles have colored bandannas with a Mirage April, but I don't think I thought that deep about it at the time....though I think it's weirder that they actually have hair. I based that drawing directly off of the Star Trek TMNT action figures released at the time.
Here are a few more drawings I had floating around my hard drive....I'll have to do another scan session sometime.. 1991 or 1992- Where's TMNT? Based on the Where's Waldo? idea..I think I actually hid Waldo in here somewhere... 1993- Michelangelo from the OT episode where he has a pet pigeon. 1991- Turtles on rooftop. Again with the super-terrible anatomy and perspective. Sheesh! In my defense, I was only 13. 1994- Based on A.C. Farley's awesome City at War conclusion cover. Unfortunately the scan is messed up on the bottom right corner. |
