Sports Talk

Is anyone a fan of the NFL?

The schedule for the playoffs this weekend (wildcard) are:

AFC:
Chiefs at Colts, 4:30 Saturday

Jets at Patriots 1:00 Sunday

NFC:
Cowboys at Seahawks 8:00 Saturday

Giants at Eagles 4:30 Sunday

Who does everyone root for, and who do you think is going to win these games?

I'm a Patriots fan so I'll root for them in that game. I think it's going to be close, but I think the Patriots can take care of the Jets this weekend

I like the New Orleans Saints in this and I hope it comes down to them and San Diego in the Super Bowl.

The Titans played so hard the last part of the season. Iwould have like to see them make a wild card spot. We'll have a great team next year though

Vince Young had a good second half of the season. But not great. If he can improve his passing numbers greatly, the Titans can become a formidable team. As it is, he relies on his legs too much. It works now, but it may not in a couple of years. Look at Michael Vick, the novelty of him is gone. Hopefully Young doesnt end up like that.

I'm not too happy you guys won tonight. I hate Duke and pick against them every year. But this year was different because Duke wasn't getting any respect and lots of people thought they would lose first round. So I figured Duke would be tired of everyone doubting them and win a couple games. Arrgghh.

But really, thats cool. Not matter what, it's always nice to see the little guys beat the big time schools. I think they have a good chance against Pitt (assuming they hold on). There's just something about Pitt I dont like, I dont think theyre that good of a team. Hope they do well saturday.

Of course I do.. I'm canadian... Hockey is my sport, all mine ! and my team is the pittsburgh penguins.. wich are gonna have their little youngsters butts handed to them by the ottawa senators in this first Playoff round.

But oh well its life... maybe if they're lucky, they'll win 1 match or maybe 2. But I have few hopes of them passing the first round this year, a huge lack of experience is gonna cost them dearly me thinks.

As for the Canucks, I wish them the best of luck as they have what it takes to go far in the Playoffs.

My team is the HARTFORD WHALERS. Oh yea, they haven't been a team for 10 years or something.

Canadian hockey fan likes the Pittsburgh team?

Stop living in the past ! And yes I always loved the penguins. Even though they really sucked for some years... I also love the montreal canadiens, but still prefer the penguins. I'm a weirdo uh?

And yeah, the Senators handed the Penguins a beating.
I know.. *sigh* But atleast my man ''sid the kid'' got a goal. Not an important one, but still a goal. And I'm pretty damn sure that the goal they refused him in second period was good ! IT WAS GOOD ! Mother f**king referees can't see sh*t ! *ahem* so yeah...

Oh balls. That wasn't a goal and you know it...Sliding into the net, kicking in the puck and taking down the goalie in the process. Yeah. Perfect form.

Seeing as how the Montreal Canadiens missed the playoffs this year, I guess I'm a Buffalo man from here in on in. Of course, I've always been partial to the Canadian teams, so I'll root for them whenever they play...

Yeah, I've taken an interest in the Buffalo Sabres ever since they got their snazzy new logo. Also doesn't hurt that they're the best team in the league.

Over the past week I've been reading and watching stuff out cricket, and I'm fascinated by how much inspiration baseball took cue from, such as innings, outs, home runs, and fly outs. Its probably the highest scoring game in sports, where I've read that one run in baseball is equivalent to about 50 runs in cricket, and that Test matches take multiple days. Its also easier to have a decent seat since the main action is in the center of the field and there's no foul territory. How do you feel about cricket and do you think it has a chance to gain some popularity in North America?

no, Not with Baseball being so popular.
Anyway are there any fans of Boxing? this weekend there was a crazy ko upset victory over then undefeated Abner Mares to Johnny Gonzales.
I'm also really excited about the Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez fight.
