Can someone explain what this nfl curse is? Apprently Vince Young is on the cover of Madden 08 and there is a curse they say or something. Explain.

Also the canucks lost overtime 1-0 by dallas. The canucks had too many players on ice, ref caught it, dallas had a powerplay, did a really long shot, it bounced off goalie in and everyone was shocked.. This was in the canucks hometown.

I was shocked saying nooooooooooooo to the tv. A few ppl in the crowd were all like "No way" and all.

The Madden curse is whenever a player is used for the cover art, that player gets injured sometime during the football season. It's been happening every year, hence, curse.

To add to what you said. The curse either refers to players having injury-ridden or statistically awful seasons the year they appear on the cover of a Madden NFL game. So they don't necessarily always get hurt but they seem to not shine like the star they were before appearing on the cover. But the injuries are the most notable...

Last year's cover athlete, Shaun Alexander, broke his foot and his NFL record for rushing touchdowns was broken after just one year in the record books. The previous year, Donovan McNabb graced the cover of Madden NFL 06 and fought injuries all season long. Then the Falcons quarterback Michael Vick broke his leg in a preseason game shortly after his cover on Madden NFL 2004.

Nothing can stop Vince Young... Nothing! Which is why they put him on the cover. They knew he was an unstopable force who could destroy the madden curse so he was placed on the game to defeat the jinx once and for all.

Actually, Vince Young is on the cover because LT was asked first, and said no because he was scared of the curse.

At least thats what wikipidea says.

I'm not sure if LT ever declined, at least I have heard that yet. All I heard was that Chargers fans made a petition to keep LT off the cover...can't say I blame them.

He didn't decline because of the curse, he declined because the job didn't pay enough. He wasn't willing to do promos, and it only paid $200,000.

Man, that would be soo funny if it was true...can you imagine the unstoppable freak of nature LT decling the cover out of fear of being jinxed? Granted, athletes as a whole are a VERY superstitious lot but that would just be too much....

He deserves a curse for that unnecessary bitching after they lost to the pats.

Last night I was wearing my red sox hat because they were playing the yankees, and I was at the spring weekend party here at uconn with thousands of people all in the same area. Since its in CT, the sox-yankees rivalry is huge and its split pretty even. Red Sox won, and the yankees fans weren't to happy about it, so they tried to argue with everyone, and one of them tried to hit my hat off...

The Calgary back up goalie, Mclennan is a dirty little b!tch. I know it's hockey but it was right in front of the ref after the already slashed the dude twice and was getting a penalty. How dumb can you get? I guess I don't get it....he must have been sent out to goon somebody. The whole team are acting like a bunch of b!tches because they're gettin their @sses kicked. Game 6 should be a great one.

EDIT: I think LT had a point last year. What the Pats did was pretty childish.

I know this isn't the video game forum, but since so many of us are NFL football fans I figured I would mention that the Madden 08 site is now up. There isn't alot to it yet besides team wallpapers and stuff. Still its good to note since there will be more things added, especially after next weekend's draft.

hopefully the new ncaa for 360 isn't complete crap like 07 was. Did anyone even like ncaa 07 for 360. crap features and gameplay imo

I dunno, I enjoyed it...more than Madden at least. It wasn't perfect but it was still a decent game. I've been reading this years versions graphics a lot more smooth and flowing.

Yeah last year was it's first year on the 360 so I didnt have high hopes. I mean not all the stadiums were in the game and the dynasty mode had no depth at all.

Oh my gosh............ The canucks has won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay...................... I am so happy.. I almost crying how incredible we made it through.. 4-1 though but still the amazing play the canucks had this entire game we had a huge chance..

Now onto round 2 with the ducks..

ANyone here in the ducks hometown?

Great, another Canadian team makes it to the second round. Pity the Flames were knocked out. Still, they were badly outplayed in practically all of their games, so I suppose they deserved it.
