Well, the Draft's just around the corner...and at this point, there's still no sure fire #1! I mean, its pointing to Jamarcus but its still pretty open... could the lions actually select Calvin as many are speculating? Its gonna be good...

As for the latest talks of the Lions taking Johnson at 2....I couldn't be happier. At the beggining people had us taking Thomas, then Quinn, and the Adams. I'm not a fan of an of them at #2. Hopefully the rumors are true and we really wont be afraid to pull the trigger on CJ. Because if the Lions can't trade down the only option is CJ or Russell. If the Lions reached for Adams at #2 I would be officially done with this team. |

I hope everyone enjoys the draft tomorrow, or at least the parts you watch. I will be out of the house when it starts, but I will be home in plenty of time to see the Jets pick at #25.

I am beyond excited about the Lions pick. Im so glad they kept CJ. I was nervous when Tampa drafted Adams because I felt that at any moment they would announce the Lions traded away CJ.
The big shcoker of the draft so far is Brady Quinn. As you know I really dont like him, so it's been funny watching him get passed up. Miami was a perfect fit it seemed, but its obvious Miami wasnt sold on Quinn. Where will Quinn fall? Kansas City could use a QB, Baltimore and Chicago could also use one. Everyone else in the 1st round is set at QB. Could Quinn actually fall into the 2nd round?!?! As much as I don't like Quinn, if the Lions had the opportunity to take him with their 2nd round pick, I'd be all for it. We'll see, Quinn has 3 more chances to stay in the first round. Back to studying and watching the draft. |

Quinn is still on the fing board!! The Vikings should have taken him, the Dolpins should have. Now they are pick 14 and Quinn is still waiting patiently. Wow

What do you think about the trade up? I think it was a bad move giving up their 2nd rounder. I don't think Revis was special enough to move up. EDIT: Well the Browns moved up to snag Quinn. I'm not sure I would've gave up next years #1.....now I can go back to hating Quinn Last edited by Mr. Snackpants; 04-28-2007 at 03:25 PM. |

Having said that, I would not be surprised at all if the Jets made a few more moves before all of this is said and done. Guys like Justin Mccareins and Eric Barton are probably on the way out so it would be wise to get something in return for them.

I can't believe the Lions took Drew Stanton, what a homer pick. I was ok with the CJ pick because we would regret it if we didn't, but this team needs help badly on defense. David Harris, Lamar Woodley, and Chris Houston(before we traded down) were all on the board. We should've taken one of them because we have one the worst defenses in the league. I did like the trade down because we still couldve gotten a good defensive player if we wanted too and we picked up another 3rd rounder. This draft is basically f'ed for the Lions.

Why is it that the Lions always take a WR in the first round? They need players on D like snacky said but year after year they take high profile WRs. Don't they have enough dept at WR? apparently not.

2 players from my school, Joe Staley and Dan Bazuin were drafted today. Staley to the 49ers and Bazuin to the Bears. I really wanted the Lions to take Bazuin but the Bears reached for him. I think Staley will be a good pro and will have a long career. I think Bazuin has potential and Chicago is a great place for him to develop. Wow, 11 focking hours. I watched the first round (6 hours) and was in and out for the rest. I probably watched 9 hours of it. I was studying for my finals next week while watching, so don't think I dont have a life |

I am happy with how the Jets did today. They got 2 solid players to help contribute on defense.
Darrelle Revis from Pitt, who is one of the top corners that came out for the draft this year. I expect him to start from day one since our corner situation has been shaky to say the least. Inside Linebacker David Harris from Michigan, a big physical hitter who should help the jets with their run defense. I look forward to see who we get tomorrow.

So which team got the best first day picks?
I would say Cleveland. They got Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn. Nice.

I didn't watch any of it because it's real boring...but I'm surprised that Miami and Green Bay didn't pick Quinn. I would think they both need a qb, but obviously they know more than I do about their teams.

I would say the 49ers had the best first day picks. They got Patrick Wills at #11. Willis is a monster. When Detroit was trying to move down this is who they were targeting, he'll be great. Then they moved up and took my boy Joe Staley at #28. He is a tremendous worker and I really think he will be a good pro, so do a lot of scouts. In the third round they got Jason Hill, a guy that people were saying is the sleeper WR in the draft. They also got Ray McDonald in the 3rd. A retty good day 1 I would say. |

I just read that the Patriots traded their 4th round pick to Oakland for Randy Moss.

Well they better hope he's more productive in NE then he was with the Raiders. I don't know what the deal was, but Moss was pathetic the past few years.
