Those kids hit the piss out of the baseball in every game of that tourney. Simply amazing what they were able to accomplish. Back to back national champions.
Thank you....: That is my alma mater. No one in the Pac-10 expected them to go this far this year.

I know isn't it amazing. They barely made the tourney and they ended up winning the world series! They were under .500 in their conference too. Just... Wow.

They lost a tons of key players from last year's championship team to professional baseball. They started the year in terrible shape. They are the first team to be back-to-back champions in a 10-year period and 5th to do so in the history of collegiate baseball.

Congrats to OSU on the victory...as much as it pains me to say it.

Bobcats took Brandan Wright with the no. 8 overall pick.

This is awesome, if I can't make it to any UNC basketball games this upcoming season, I can just drive down to Charlotte and see the "other Tarheels" play.

Slowly but surely they are putting the pieces together....May, Felton, Okafor, Morrison, and now Wright. They are losing Wallace but I am sure that can be addressed.

Yeah they have a nice college all-star team of the last 4 years or so. They have a lot of potential and I like them a lot...well except for Morrison

EDIT: Jared Dudley...good player. I liked his energy and fight. Good pick.

The Pistons took Rodney Stuckey and I am super pleased. He's a great player from a small school, aka Joe Dumars. He'll be great backing up Rip and Chauncey(hopefully).

I'm not a big NBA guy..being in NC college hoops reigns supreme, but the Bobcats are making smart moves, getting Felton/May and now taking Brandan Wright. It puts people in the seats seeing all the local talent.

For sure. I know what you mean. It's exciting when your pro teams draft local college kids. The Lions with Charles Rogers and Drew Stanton.

Speaking of local kids...the Knicks just drafted Wilson Chandler. He was from my area and I watched him in HS. The kid is SOOO athletic. He made Sportscenter top plays at Depaul every week. I wished he wouldve fell to the Pistons at #27.

I really like Stuckey too, he's got a lot of DWade in his game. And as far as those Bobcats they sure are stock piling that ACC talent but don't you think it's getting a little crowded at the 3 and 4 spots there? One pick away from my Rockets and I'm hoping for Fazekas.

EDIT: Well we picked Brooks from Oregon which is a nice pick, if we didn't JUST trade for Mike James. 4 spot Dawson 4 spot!

Hey, you never know..he could eventually be sent over to Detroit.

I didn't realize Charlotte got Dudley until I saw your edit...man the Bobcats are just loading up on ACC players.

Well, Im a mixed a bag...

Im pretty hyped to see the Gators make yet another mark in the history books by getting 3 players in the top 10 for the 1st time ever (actually top 9)...I think Noah's in a GREAT spot in Chicago....

But on the other hand, my beloved team of the last 3 years is officially gone in its entirety for the most part...hopefully Billy D can keep us in it...

Ah, I know how you feel...in 2005-2006 UNC had what is called the "mass exodus", when May/Felton/McCants/Williams all left after they won the title. Everyone around here had us left for dead (the dook writers and fans especially) but we had a pretty good follow up season.

Florida will be just fine.

Oh man, what a draft.

Rodney Stucky and now Arron Afflalo. We had problems at the backup 1 and 2 positions last year. Delfino and Flip Murray are no good. Lindsey Hunter is a decent backup be he's old. Afflalo is a perfect gaurd for Detroit. I believe these 2 can step right in and back up Chauncey and Rip. Now they need to clean up the frontcourt. Please get a big man who can score with his back to the basket.

Oh and that's waht I was thinking TMNTerminator...about Noah and he Bulls. Great fit.

Yea, I know...

Its just a little surreal at this point. I mean, how do u follow up B2B championships when the ENTIRE starting 5 and important reserves leave? But yea, I know things will be alright...

And you're right...I remember when UNC lost all those terrific guys but they followed it up very nicely. I can only hope the Gators can do the same...

I think that is where Donovan deciding to stay was huge for you. If he had honored his contract with the Magic then things probably would look grim right now.

Instead you have your coach still, and things are going to work out fine I believe.

Oh, without a doubt...If Billy had left, our team would be in absolulte SHAMBLES...no team, no coach, prospective signess bye-bye: just a complete mess

But Billy keeps hope alive...can u say 3-peat?

JetsandHeels...

What do you think about the Jason Richardson-Brandan Wright trade?

That trade tells me the Bobcats think they can start winning now. I'm not sure I agree. The trade does bring experience to a very young team. But I don't see Jason Richardson as the go-to-guy on a team. Last year when GS made their run it was all Baron Davis. J-Rich was good, but was a huge factor in that series. It seemed like Matt Barnes out played him most of the playoffs. J-Rich seems like a good #2. That's why I think it's a bad move. Brandan Wright is so young and has tons of potential... J-Rich is like 28. They should've kept the hometown Tarheel. But I do think they could make a run for the playoffs, hell anyone in the East could.
