Fair enough, (I guess I was wondering how much of a hit it was in the grand scheme of things, but good point.)

No, it's the cover for RYV#7 in May.

Pretty rare for Peter to tussel with Magneto...he did so in the 1980s animated series, and he also faced him in the newspaper strip (in a storyline where MJ was considering having a kid with Peter)

So, is it an alternative to the one with the Parkers and the X-Men, or did they change it?

They also had a brief meet up in Ultimate Spider-Man (the "...And His Amazing Friends" story arc) and in Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man, a light-hearted story about the two clashing in Greece.

The one with the X-Men on the cover is Issue Six, this is the next issue.

Oh, so a two-parter. Huh, I though it was going to be a one-shot story. Guess I was wrong. Well, a longer story sounds like more fun. Bring it on!

(Wait, what was with the "Welcome to die?" thing?)

It's an actual quote from the X-Men Arcade game.

So apparently 616 Mary Jane and Peter will be interacting in the Free Comic Book Day edition of Spectacular Spider-Man. I'm going to be on the cautious side about this

Hope that's a good thing.

Yeah, Chip's apparently a Peter/MJ fan, so here's hoping he rebuilds the relationship, he's said in an interview his book will still follow ASM's leading developments while doing it's own thing (and there will be consequential storylines in Spectacular that ASM will also fold into it's narrative)

While I suppose at the very least having a supporter onboard will make things more friendly for old school fans, even if the author can't directly change stuff.

The Institute, I presume. I'm guessing that it's MJ with an X-Man?

Probably Cyclops, as seen in most of the imagery Stegman has provided from the issue.

Saw an announcement that Marvel is doing a Venom event. That might explain why they're having that RYV variant cover with MJ and the Venom symbiote; it's supposed to be in honor of that event.

Yeah I read that too. Apparently they're going to 'canonize' all the Marvel symbiote variants, meaning 616 MJ will finally bond with a symbiote for this event (oh joy)

Guess I won't be reading that ever, then.
