A personal assistant called Zara working with genetically manipulated aquatic monsters. Never ends well, historically.

That's still the most mean-spirited and unnecessarily harsh death in the series.

Ahh okay. I don't remember a single character name from the ''World'' movies that wasn't introduced before them. Hell I don't remember all of the legacy ''Park'' characters either.

Also if I took a drink every time "cousin" was said in this issue, I'd be dead.

It was pretty extreme for a "non-villain." Movies usually reserve that sort of thing for a character the audience is conditioned to hate.

Meanwhile, Dodgson got off too easily. The only villain in the franchise who got a cutaway death.

So is Dimension Z just Alien Hell or something?

Its been so many years I've honestly forgotten Old Hob and Baxter were a team in the very first issues.

And Null, a character introduced back in 2016, is just now *finally* getting her plot started literally 5 years after her character was introduced. Goddamn. Null was the slowest burn character of the series, I can't believe she was introduced in 2016 and only just now did we learn anything about her.

No different than in the 1987 series, as evidenced by the fact that Mr. Ogg is from there

The Dimension Z sequence felt like a different comic, in a good way. Certainly the most literally alien setting ever depicted in any TMNT media. I can buy that it's an entirely different dimension rather than just another planet. Waltz's writing continues to be masterful.

idk about that, these last two issues have had the same problem most TMNT comics have had that introduce/reintroduce characters and situations with the overdone exposition dialogue. It just feels unnatural. I mean none have been worse than some of the vol. 4 stuff but it's still weiiiiird. There's way to introduce people to these things without basically overexplaining everything to the reader, especially things that the characters involved already know.

I wonder what's going on with the Turnstone. You can do anything you want with it and Cherubae is having trouble fending off a rock tiger with it. She should be able to atomize it with a thought, or just transport herself away across the universe. Maybe it's inert now?

The Turnstone was basically a literal deus ex machina in the Archie series, hopefully this one has more limits to what it can do. Or better explained at least.

I look at it like a Green Lantern ring with no limitations or power limit... but it also drives you mad by using it.
