Nope. Just the bottom.

I started putting that collection together, but lost my job soon after. Shortly after I went back to school. SO that portion of the collection probably won't start back up till sometime mid next year.

Who makes / sells the deck? I've been looking for it but couldn't find anything. I'd love to buy one for my collection.

It was an SDCC exclusive through Nickelodeon, sold at their booth.

You even tracked down the skate deck? That's one thing I haven't been able to get my hands on.

As some of you know, last week was the "Talkin' Toons with Rob Paulsen LIVE" podcast with a large portion of the original Turtles voice cast. And I had the great fortune of being able to attend.

After the event there was a paid signing with proceeds going to charity. Here is a link to what I got signed:

In hind sight, I should have had then sign in black rather than silver. While it looks great in person, it shows up for crap in photos.

Awesome. I think in person the silver would probably show up better. I had Laird sign my Raphael #1 in black and you can barely see the autograph because it blends in with the black of the cover.

Black or Silver, either way they are signed, and you got the chance to attend the podcast and help Charity.

New to the collection!

On first inspection, you might think this is a first print of TMNT #1... but it isn't. It is indeed, a vintage counterfeit. A fake. Whoever created this book took great care in making a very convincing cover of the first print of TMNT#1 (both interior and exterior). They then removed the cover from a third printing #1 and expertly married the reproduction cover to it. Unfortunately, the guy I purchased it from paid for it under the guise of it being an authentic first print. I took the opportunity to add it to the collection after the community was able to debunk it as a fake.

I know many of you would wonder why I would purchase a counterfeit (some believing that doing so is ethically wrong because it attaches a value to something worthless that was created out of deception). However; I believe that my collection isn't just physical. It is a collection of TMNT history. And like it or not, this book and other counterfeit books like it, are definitely part of the history.

I've notified them of the book. They are going to encapsulate it but clearly marked as "COUNTERFEIT" all over the label.

And the major differences are:
1. The type of paper used for the cover.
2. The poor cut of the cover.
3. The color of the interior pages (there is a clear difference in color between the first and 3rd print interior pages.

Nice find Stephan. Counterfeits of #1 and #2 are hard to come by these days. Saw my fair share of them back in the day...wish I'd have grabbed them up. I agree they have a solid place in TMNT history and, likewise, anyone's collection. Thanks for sharing the news.
