Life is Strange 2

Quote:
After a long wait, Life is Strange developer Dontnod Entertainment has finally confirmed a new season of the game.

In a video released in the last few minutes the studio has confirmed it has now sold more than 3m copies of Life is Strange's first season - and that a new Life is Strange game was on the way.

Apparently this new Life is Strange has been in development since the first game recieved its disc release - but there's no word yet on when we might hear more. Perhaps we'll catch a glimpse in a few short weeks at E3?

Life is Strange was a delightful surprise from Dontnod, the studio previously known for Remember Me. Its episodic structure stirred up a huge fan following between episodes - including a number of Eurogamer team.

I don't know if we can definitively say this'll be a "LiS 2". It could be a prequel/sidestory/alternate continuity for all anybody knows, at this point.

That said, I am down with this. LiS was the only game that ever made me cry as an adult.

I'm pretty sure LiS2 will be in a completely different setting and all new characters. I remember hearing they don't want to reference Max and Chloe so that the true ending for the first game will remain in the mind of the player. Any sort of reference will ruin that and prove that 'oh so this ending happened, or that ending happened'.

In addition to a second season, a prequel game focusing on Rachel Amber and Chloe is apparently said to be in development from Deck Nine Games after screenshots leaked from their site:

I'm curious to see how they'll spin the time travel mechanic, and if it'll have any retroactive effects on the plot of the original game.

It makes no sense unless Rachel had those powers too.

That's what I'm guessing. Maybe the phenomenon will be explained so we learn how/why Max gained the same abilities.

They've said there's no time travel in this game. Once you make a choice you have to stick with it.
