I thought I might be getting a copy of the book in question for myself, but that didn't come to be. If I ever do, though, you can be sure I'll be sharing.

Thanks Rose!
At least we know it's complete now. I wonder how far along Peter Laird is in his re-mastering of the TMNT comics. Hopefully we'll see Vol. 1 out there again someday (just glad I have the originals, I love the art, as you say a lot has been lost in the new edition). |

I tracked down the old graphic novels because I got impatient. Now that I hear that Laird is making all kinds of changes, I'm glad I got them already. When creators make changes to these kinds of things (like Lucas and Star Wars) they always risk making changes to something that was cool about the original, like Han Solo blasting Greedo or having a kind, older Anakin looking back at Luke instead of creepy Hayden Christensen.

Someone on this board said that the "Same as it never was" episode was based on "Shredderville" from the OT with some Archie elements thrown in.

That would actually make a lot of sense.

Actually, the lost eye-thing exists in multiple future-Raph's.
Can't remember if Archie or Mirage used the idea first..

Mirage. It's pretty much present in all TMNT universes except the old toon.

comic question
hey guys, for someone that is huge into tmnt(enough to have a tat of raphy) i actually have no idea where to get the mirage issues. I have a reprint of number one signed by one of the artist that i'm not even gonna open, but reprint or not i'd love to get the original image and mirage issues. where can i find them cheap . I used to love the artist drawings and story lines but i never got enough of the issues to get the whole story line and i'm looking to make a collection. thanks.

How cheap? I have some extra copies of the Image series in near mint condition, but I'd only sell them if the price were right. I have to look at what I have and what I'm willing to sell.

The official website is good place to start. Check out mycomicshop.com and milehighcomics.com too, both tend to be pretty good, the prices can be a bit on and off, but generally they're pretty good. Ebay is often a great place to get big lots of the Mirage stuff.
Just make sure you pick up City at War and Tales #36

I don't have access to the Eastman Artobiography right now, but I seem to remember that there is a painting of Raphael with eyepatch in there by him and Talbot, but I don't know if that would've been drawn before all of this or not. |

I think it was drawn after the comic came out.

Here's Volume One: http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...1029507&sr=1-5 Issues 1-11 and Leonardo are included in those four books. From there, the official site is selling Books 2-5, which will get you up to issue 20 something I think. |

Turns out that what I remembered was Talbot's sweet-looking piece in the second Mirage portfolio.

Was Renet meant to be pronounced Renee in the comics? (as in zellweger)
I thought it sounded akward when I heard them calling her Renet in the new series.
