He was caught. The authorities don't think it was a terror related attack.

Shooting people in a tram isn't exactly a common occurrence in The Netherlands or in most of Europe...

New meaning to "Watch the tram car please...watch the tram car please...watch the..." (Points if you know where to watch the tram car. Please.)

Anyway. What the hell, psycho.

Can we just euthanize humanity, I think we're done here. Done on Earth.

I'm not, but a next state over and being small states means plenty of regional stuff is familiar.

Right 'ere, Guv'na.

Y'know, ever since I moved out of Jamesburg, I've long forgotten what random gunfire at 3am sounds like. I guess that's good?

You mean the party poppers?! But that's part of Jersey's charm!

I went to school and worked in Camden. I owe my steely resolve to watching police standoffs since I was three years old.

When I was a mover, we had the contract to move the Newark school system.

Their elementary schools have a depressing amount of used needles and glass vials in the outside stairwells. Not that the high schools were any better. I guess just the fact that they were elementary schools put it over. Either way... yuck.

Yeah. The social problems that are screamingly apparent yet somehow still overlooked are overwhelming. The amount of effort it would take to fix some of those areas is beyond imagination.

Contrast that with the mcmansions not a twenty minute drive away, too. Jersey is a weird state to drive through.

Oh my gosh! That's horrible!

I feel so sorry for the victims' friends/families; my thoughts are with them at this time.

Hopefully, the assailant will suffer harsh repercussions for his despicable actions.

Even when it happens in the USA, it usually makes it to the international media no matter if it is a terrorist incident or not.

Hahaaaa, my whole street is a mix of humble little ranch-style homes with Jackass McMansions in between.

You really do get a little of everything over here.

How many American cities have a tram system, though? I can only think of San Francisco. Funny enough, SF is often compared to Lisbon. Both cities have trams, two very similar bridges and are both built on seven hills.

Those are trolleys, I thought. Is there a difference? The tram cars I know are just really crappy cars that do about 8-9kph.

I just want to chime in how much I greatly appreciate Prowler, as he has never to my knowledge misspoken the phrase "Funny Enough" as "Funnily Enough", despite it being a phrase he uses rather often and English may not even be his first language. I have so much admiration for that.

Because saying "Funnily Enough" is one of 73 Reasons I Will Cut A Bitch With No Explanation Or Warning. And I really like the guy, so it's great that I don't have to "correct" him in such fashion. But it's the only way people learn.

Thanks Prowler. Thanks for raising the bar. Sincerely.

Hmm dunno. Not an expert on the subject, I must say. Ours look like this:
Spoiler:

We also have modern ones:

Anyway, trams here only go through the older historical parts of the city. They're mostly for tourists at this point. I think I've only ridden a tram in my city... once in my lifetime?

It's not my native language at all, no. My native language would be, as you might have guessed, Portuguese.

Now if only my German becomes as good as my English one day... one step at a time.
