I mean, it'd have to be, wouldn't it?

((Quick Google search)).....HAH! She totally does!!

Only people like that think people wanna read about and look at People Like That. So yeah, no surprise there.

She also wrote Casey & April for IDW TMNT, the single biggest letdown in the entire IDW series to date. And yeah, I'm including the Mutant Town bits I couldn't stand.

Casey and April do absolutely jack $hit in a desert. Not to be outdone, Rat King also does jack $hit but at least we find out he likes barbecue.

What a resume! How do folks keep getting work on high-profile IPs?

The answer to your question is, "Every company needs at least one Token Biscuit-Muncher nowadays."

One of my good friends is a lesbian, and oddly enough, stuff like this makes her gag. She thinks it's vulgar that there needs to be a "checklist" and that people get put up on a pedestal simply for liking chicks over guys and making that part of their entire "identity". Doubly so when it becomes a commodity to be packaged and sold.

She's as queer as the day is long, and she thinks stuff like this is gross.

Like honestly everyone deserves to make a living doing whatever they wanna do, that's great. But treating people like Golden Unicorns because they bleed queerness is a little offsides, I think.

Now I'm wondering how personal of a thing this series is for Tamaki. Did She(Zie?) want to be like Starfire as a kid, but saw her(zim?) turn out way different? Or did she just grow up resenting the Starfire she saw in comics or in cartoons as an impossibly high standard? Did she insert herself into the story as a wistful longing to achieve something she couldn't obtain, or is this story her way of critiquing the entire industry which gave birth to the character?

Or maybe she just wants a check and can't help but inserting herself(zieshelf?) into every story she writes.

Starfire has really been taking a beating as a character for years now.

The New 52 really fvcked her over with the Red Hood and the Outlaws series, and then they turned her into some sort of Hollywood diva with a solo series IIRC.

Now she's got a weird Goth daughter who hates her, so that an author can insert herself into the comics.

Maybe if a writer is going to go for self-inserted fanfic, they should make the character interesting and likeable. So far, I see neither.

Funny thing, I think "Not Starfire" is derivative of an existing character from the Teen Titans cartoons:

When experiencing the wonders of a fictional universe, where godlike superbeings walk amongst humanity -- the shining ideals of virtue and heroism, and everything we should aspire to -- who DOESN'T want to read about one of their ungrateful punk ass kids going through an emo stage?

I mean, besides Jason Todd and Damian Wayne. 'Cause I fvcking love those guys.

Does anyone really believe that kids are going to read a book about that character and do anything good with it?

Are they going to aspire to be her? To improve themselves by telling off mommy that they aren't like her?
Or are they going to breath a sigh of relief that they are actually "okay" because they are Just fine just they way they are?

Neither. Because kids or tweens or whatever aren't going to read it. This is creator masturbation for bots and @$$ holes on Twitter.

I think someone else here said it somewhere too, but it really is like they are trying to bankrupt publishers and rid the market of comics as a business plan or something.

I mean most of this stuff nowadays is so bad that you could make a better comic book by accident than by this design.

That's a ridiculous conspiracy, comics have been on the decline clinging to whatever they can to keep their relevancy and none of that has worked long term. This is only them trying to gain a new audience since the normal audience keeps shrinking. Of course it might have the effect of further shrinking it, but at this point they're willing to try anything.

-sigh-
Dude. LMAO.

Dude.
hahhaha You don't say that they "are trying to put their line out of business" as a conspiracy theory. HAHAHA holy $#!( man.

You say it as sarcasm that someone is doing something so f'd up, and that it's so obviously f'd up that a rational person could only compute it by saying "they must be trying to sabotage their own business!" because you'd refuse to believe that someone could actually be that dumb.

It's a decades old phrase of wild sarcasm as an explanation for stupidity. It's not actually a conspiracy theory. Good God, man. lmfao

Is penguin the father or are people just trolling? Maybe there's an interesting story there, wasn't starfire a villain for a while a few years ago. Maybe that's why Lucy hates her mother, she's a hero again and she wants to be a villain.

At least the drama with Kory/Dick should be worth a read. I mean cucking with the penguin of all people..then again babs was a cripple.

I'd rather read the story of why she hooked up with the Penguin, if that was the case....

The DC Comics Twitter finally did a tweet about this and they set replies only to people DC follows and the people who worked on this ****

Who can reply?
People @DCComics follows and everyone mentioned in the conversation can reply.

This is why they shutdown the dccomics.com back in mid 2012 because 9/10 users did not like the New 52 and were happy with Brightest Day. Then switched to an interactive social media format where it only allowed for ego stroking and ignoring the largely negative responses.

This is from a 2016 article I found. She's even more diverse, she is Canadian.

'Tamaki thinks telling these kinds of stories about minorities is important. She adds “I certainly think as a queer, Asian, chubby teenager I did not see a lot of queer, Asian chubby teenagers hanging out in my library.” She also wants to see stories of immigration and what it means to be First Nations as a greater part of Canadian literature.'
