I'd imagine it's more than possible that this was the final straw. The proverbial feather to land on the already heaping pile of wank that they've maybe put up with from him, and it was just easier to use this as an excuse to let him go.

Because...again, none of this was unknown.
And it's not like Disney doesn't already employ a bunch of morally questionable people in high profile franchises.

I honestly don't see the humor in his tweets... I mean, what? Like, where's the joke? While I'm still baffled at what he wrote, I think it's clear it was done to be edgy and weird, and honestly, I don't see why he should be fired for that. Especially 10 years later. I get Disney is trying to protect themselves and distance themselves from his mess right now, but that's just really sh*tty for Gunn.

I was embarrassed about Jason Biggs attachment to TMNT even if he did not insult Romney and Ryan in front of children on Twitter. This guy is not like that as a person evolved and put out quality films since then. Forgive and forget. Who is Disney going to Gunn for next?
