Injustice: Gods Among Us from NetherRealm

An announcement trailer popped up for the new game from NetherRealm, Injustice: Gods Among Us.

For all intents and purposes, it's essentially Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe minus the Mortal Kombat kats.

I dug MKvDCU, and the most recent MK game, but I'm wondering if there was an actual desire or outcry for this game? I mean, it looks neat, and will probably play well, but who was hankering for this?

I love comics, and DC heroes, and I especially love Solomon Grundy---but I hadn't thought recently "Man, I can't wait for a straight DC comics fighting game reminiscent of the SNES game." I feel as though stuff like MK vs DC and Marvel Vs Capcom kind of work because it connects two niche groups. This kind of fits one; a group that likes DC comics-- now that group gets smaller when you consider it has to be people who like DC comics, and video games, or fighting games. Now, I'm not totally stupid, I know it'll have a broader appeal, and people who don't strictly fall into that subcategory will play it...but not everyone.

Trailer.

Whatever, I'll play it, it has Solomon Grundy.

Batman is pretty strong to kick Grundy like that.

Guess they needed to do something to pass the time before MK10.

I keep asking Ed Boon about adding the Riddler and the tard never responds.

Gotta troll him to get a response. That seems to always work.

Looking forward to the game, just hope to hell it doesn't turn out like MK vs DCU. That game was an awful waste of my hard earned money.

I disagree, I played it for the first time only recently and I had a lot of fun with it. Needed another year in the oven, though, the timing is a bit off and there's nowhere near as many extras and secrets as any MK game deserves. I get that some hated it for being "toned down" compared to regular MK but I think we all knew what we were getting into as soon as it was announced. I thought it was neat just to see one of those "Y'know what they'll NEVER do?" ideas for a game actually happen.

Needed a bigger roster, alternate costumes, and a few more modes, at a minimum. It was especially jarring because the predecessor in the MK series was completely bloated with content. But I didn't think it was bad at all, I liked that they tried some new things with the Grapple and Free-Fall Kombat, and I like that it looks like they'll continue to experiment in this new DC game, even though environmental attacks and such aren't that new of an idea.

I didn't care much either way for Injustice, especially since everyone has their New 52 look (I really hope Classic looks are a bonus unlockable, NO reason NOT to), but having played MK vs DC I'm actually interested.

Loved the combo challenges in MK vs.. DCU, took a long time to beat them all, but the sense of achievement was well worth it.

Strangely enough, that was my least favorite part. I was like "f**k it. not worth it."

I really loved the revival of Mortal Kombat so I'm really looking forward to what NRS are pulling out for Injustice.
I have another $20 to pay off towards the game at GameStop. Woo!
I'm currently offline though, I'll get a new subscription after this move we're getting ready to do, until then I'm missing out on the Demo

Just downloaded the demo, I haven't played a fighting game in a long while. It looks great, but I had a hard time getting into the gameplay, I ended up button smashing for most of it. Its fun to see all the DC things brought to together, Shazam is looking like my favorite character for this game.

I think I'll wait until I can find it cheaper on ebay months later. But I am looking forward to it, I'm just not a big fighting game person.

With my work schedule being what it is, I'll probably pick it up Wednesday night. I'm interested in the Season Pass, but I'm undecided.
