The ties to the Mirage Studios comic book are gone for TMNTU line. How are they even Eastman and Laird’s TMNT?
It’s not easy to tell that the action figures are bursting out from the sewer walls, either, like with the original Playmates toy line. I hope they plan on changing the brick colors for Baxter Stockman and every supporting character afterwards. I’m liking the ReAction figures a little more than these. |

That is either a nice nod to the creators or, more likely, the result of a continuity/legacy agreement that E&L's camp has negotiated to keep them in royalties. It's sort of how Stan Lee negotiated remaining the face of all things Marvel, even in properties for Marvel that he didn't create.

I used to edit a downloadable PDF 'zine and every issue I would end my page 1 editorial with "Long live the collecting madness!" Last edited by IMJ; 10-31-2019 at 09:11 PM. |

When should we expect to hear the lineup to the 2nd wave of TMNTU?

Since TCU is 1 month ahead of TMNTU according to S7, that would mean we could possibly get a sneak peek of TMNTU wave 2 in Jan 2020 with a pre-order for wave 2 in February. That being said, S7 is notoriously bad at meeting their own announced release dates. Like really, really bad. For example, Wave 4 of MOTUC CG went up for preorder in Jan 2019, was supposed to be out in June 2019, and we are currently HOPING they even release before the end of the year. |

According to BigBadToyStore, wave 1 is estimated to arrive in the 2nd quarter of next year (April 1st - June 30th, 2020). |

Do you think we should expect to see April or a different turtle for the Turtles side? The ‘88 all yellow jumpsuit April or ‘89 blue stripe April would be cool. I was never a big fan of the ‘91 April with and without the Press sign.

a turtle in each wave I would put money on the 88 yellow jumpsuit April in one of the 5 waves. |

Do you see there being any TMNTU figures of the turtle variant sub-waves like Wacky Action figures (especially the first wave turtles)? A Mouser in the form of the 1989 Wacky Action Mouser was included with the TMNTU Baxter Stockman. How far do you see the TMNTU line going? Will the TMNTU line consist of the basic characters that were well liked from each basic assortment made sold from 1988 to 1990, 1988 to 1991, or 1988 to 1994 (every basic assortment of the original Playmates line)? |
