differences between arcade vs snes
http://www.x-cult.org/newegg/games/8...ES_Vs._Arcade/ Besides the Arcade version looking better and more animation the SNES version was superior in everyway. |

This seems to be the Arcade version of the game instead of the SNES version, which is a shame.
The SNES version was longer, and had more levels and bosses. It's a damn shame they're re-doing the Arcade version. This also means no Slash, since that Clayface rip-off is the boss of the dino level in the Arcade version. |

Its indeed retarded they are doing the arcade version....since its a remake it doesn't mean it would have to have the limits of the SNES version, they could have added four players and anything the SNES couldn't have because of hardware limits..
The reason it was ok that they used the Arcade version of the first game on XBL instead of the NES was because it was a port. Had it been a remake then yeah it would have been better to use the NES version since it had more levels. |

Doesn't Nintendo have exclusive rights to all games previously available only on their systems? I think that should exlain why the SNES version wasn't used.

Great news! Although I wish they had gone the 2D HD route, and gone with the snes version.
I do wonder if they may add a new level or two. There needs to be a remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project. Last edited by Dragon Turtle; 05-01-2009 at 07:16 PM. |

I'll be hugely happy if it isn't based on the SNES version.
While the SNES version is good, my favorite level from the arcade, was ripped to shreds. I'm talking about Neon Nightriders. That level in the SNES version sucked royally. Opting for some stupid mode 7 effect, instead of keeping the ambience and feel of the future the arcade version of the level, provided. The music was better in the arcade, and the level was way better in the arcade. That one aspect alone, made me hate the SNES version to an extent.

Would be kind of neat if they adapted the game to fit the movie-verse, but whatever. I'll give it a play.

Every system ought to have its "killer-app" which motivates gamers to buy the system simply because of a particular game.

Well they could have easily used the arcade versions of those levels and everything else of the snes. This is a remake not a port. Its really dumb that they are just using the arcade that lacks tons of stuff that made the snes version great.

I merged this thread with the other one and used its title to make things clearer. The off-topic arguing was split off and locked.

I bought the console a few days ago with a rebate card for just Ghostbusters:The Video Game. And one or two star wars games. But I think I mentioned that earlier....

This is the best news I've heard all week...hell, all month......hell, all year. Turtles in Time was the combination of all the best elements of early 90's Turtle-mania, and in my honest opinion, the best 2D Brawler ever made. I hope the original version is also included.

More minor new news over at http://www.heroesinahalfshell.org/ This time our bud 'Ranger' Ray Carsillo posts his full interview with Gary Richardson. Along with some Smash Up TidBits, he tells us that Texas stop of the Turtle Tour Bus will be at the Ubi-Soft Headquarters in Texas with more video game related items.
Anyone in that area that can report on it for us with pics?

That's all the info there is for now. All we can do is sit and wait for either more info from the Party Wagon tour thingie (though I there won't be any more news there) or wait for someone to speak up with news (or someone hounds a source...). One of the things I've learnt from the TMNT fandom is no one tells us anything
