It's not a boring answer my friend, Wolverine is popular for a reason.

Nightcrawler, mainly because of his faith. “Bloodlines” is the best episode of the 90’s cartoon in my opinion

I haven't kept up with X-Men for years and don't intend to delve into them now since everything seems so confusing and convoluted. So I'll just go with how I felt ten years ago and say Iceman. I remember acting like him from the "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends" cartoon as a tot, especially in Winter.

As time went on, I liked his character in the comics and would get rankled whenever he got ignored in games and TV shows. I had mixed reactions about him in the movies, as I didn't like him being one of the new kids but was glad he was a focus.

Doing further research on him, I was impressed with how his powers developed and enhanced over time. From controlling moisture in order to replace his cells to ice clones to actual heat vision? Damn. The only thing I don't agree with is altering his sexual preference since it doesn't make any sense at all. But that's a different can of worms altogether.

So, yeah. Iceman. Cool character.

Cyclops is always interesting to me as he directs the direction the books will be taking as the perpetual man on the ground.

I am basing it on movies and TAS.

Not Wolverine. I hate this character archetype with a passion.
Movies made him good, though, but there was oversaturation of him a bit.
Not Cyclops. He is boring. Basically, like most Leonardos.
Not Gambit. Too try hard 90s.

So, I say...Rogue. She is cool and has sexy accent. And everything else.
