I just turned 38. It's all relative. When you're 60 you'll think 30 is young and wish you were 30. Just enjoy it while you're there because honestly the 30s seem to be even shorter than the 20s. The older you get, the faster time goes.

My grandmother considered people in their 40s and even 50s "young".

Because you're officially an adult.
When you're in your early 20's and you can still mostly fool around and live carefree. When you're 30 you need a career and you're expected to be settled down with 2.5 children and have a mortgage on a house already. If you don't have that you're considered a failure among modern society. |

In my experience it isn't the age that's bad. It's the loss.
The horrible, terrible, sudden and unjust loss.

I'm well over the feeling of "turning 30," its the next one I'm now terrified of and edging a bit too close for comfort to. |

*Google searches term* oh wow, I wasn't aware of that. I thought the term only meant people born after 2000.

My god that's scary. I guess in about 10 years time from now I'll be posting a thread titled, "For those of you hit it, how do you cope with turning 40?"
I hope everyone here is still around on this forum 10 years from now. We can all grow old together. |

We don't speak of that number, it does not exist. I refuse to recognize that. At least until I'm far past it enough that it no longer sounds so bad.
What I probably hate more is the thought that I'm only 23 years away from 60. I've already plowed through much of the 30s, how fast can I do 23 more? I just want to go back to the days where Christmas felt like it took two years to get here. Should have appreciated how painfully slow life was back then. If we only knew how it turns out later. But yeah, keeping in mind that friends, family, etc are all in this together is a little comforting at least. Including the fact that the Turtles are really 32, no matter how they may be portrayed. Come, Turtles, join us. We have so much old-Turtle fan art to look forward to. |

Isn't it weird to think some people have been reading my posts on this forum for like 12 years since 2004? Granted, there aren't many people still active nowadays who have been here for over a decade like I have, but just think of it.
I came to this forum when I was only like 17. I was a teenager in High School. And here I am more than a decade later at the big 3-0. Just think that some people could have seen my life go by before their very eyes. Its weird to think that some people like snake were like 3 years old when I first came here. |

Have you ever seen a therapist? Not even being a dick. It'd be great for you.

When you hear of all the people in real life and online who are diagnosed with aspergers/autism or whatever, it makes you wonder. Thankfully I don't have that and have never been diagnosed with it, so praise the gods for that.
Kinda makes you wonder since I've never been depressed in my entire life either. Somewhat concerned for my future, but never depressed. I may very well be a strange case indeed. |

Kind of hard to get a diagnosis if you've never seen the kind of doctor who could give you one.
Everyone could use a checkup now and again. I'm with Nines, you should seriously look into it.

My grandpa lived up to ninety but just recently passed away. I'm thankful he reached that milestone because after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, we didn't think he would live up to a year and he lasted five years. Just shows how amazing things can happen at any age.
