Man, Rita’s sleek design really turns some heads!

Kind of hard to ever take Rita as seriously as they want us to here. When you remember how goofy she looks and acts, not to mention that the character she is "based on" was designed to be silly to begin with, I'm not sure a sexy redesign and some vague assurances that she'll be less lenient does the job.

Boom also is attempting to make both her and Zedd sympathetic, but also more layered.
Just skip over Rita and bring on the badassery of Lord Zedd like the Justice League crossover. If I am not mistaken Rita was a demon worshiper mourning her cruel prankster son. Her being the plot device to take away Zedd's level of threat proves that she is only so threatening even when nostalgia blinders are put on. I am just grateful that the Power Rangers are the original six. It makes it more meaningful and interesting to the readership.

Boom’s version of ZEDD is probably the worst worst when it comes to his villainy. He constantly gets sidelined like a little *itch

Are there any differences design-wise between morphed Pink ranger April and Kimberly? Do they basically split the power between them like something out of Shazam?

Ah, now that I think back to the original crossover series, I think you're right!

Disclaimer: I HATE Screenrant articles and feel like they survive only on clickbait headlines to drag people in through other social media sites, but I do think it's funny that this issue was considered meaningful enough to get its own article based on April and Kimberly's banter about whether the skirt is essential to the Pink Ranger outfit:
