These limited books seem like they're aimed at rich people. I am not a rich person.

Ugh...
350 for the book 20 for shipping is the minimum I love me some original art. Question....Of the 10 limited Blues will each art be different, or are all the Blues the same, all the reds the same, etc? |

Welp...snatched up a Blue....
I am much like Rich in that I must have 1 copy of every comic, and I dabble in the action figure collecting.... Rich I will send you a scan of my art to your website like I did with my Matt Slay sketches if you like. I will be interested to see how these come out. *edit I already have some buyers remorse. I hope these are amazing... |

Do you mow lawns? LOL! I was late to the game for IDW TMNT collecting and am now scrambling to catch up. Funny thing is, I had no problem ordering these because they are at MSRP. Yet I refuse to pay $400 for the SDCC Ultimate exclusive set because the resale asking price is too high at a 100% markup!

Looks that way. Here's hoping that all of the Blue labels have 10 DIFFERENT illustrations by Duncan....I like the one they show in the video, but it would kind of take away from the collection if its all 10 of the same splash

It is definitely hard to be a turtle Completionist lately....between all the action figures, TPB re-releases, hardcovers, special editions, and the over priced Jetpack variants, I probably drop 1-200 a month on Turtles. Sigh....my wife is gonna kill me

I'm with you on hating to pay the high markup later...it's either "pay a lot now" or "pay a TON later." Plus, those SDCC Ultimates (the books themselves) were not any different than the B&W Ltd. Ed. Ultimates on IDWs site. |

Here's him working on the sketches. There's plenty of variety. EDIT: Alright, that pic's huge. Click the link and you can see it in excellent detail. http://i.imgur.com/DSSS4.jpg Last edited by natecm; 10-03-2012 at 12:37 PM. |

Agreed. My wife loves it when I spend $$ on the Turtles because she knows I can't say anything when she spends $$ on herself...it's a win/win.

Thanks for the images! Those do look amazing! I don't see any group shots in there, but the red bandannas on the black images look pretty amazing! Makes me want to go back and buy a red label too. Any chance you wanna throw an extra red label in my box next to the Blue one I paid for? haha

Actually, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to be a true Turtle completionist. With the system IDW is proposing, this seems to be the Turtlemania for this series, though this is a much more questionable investment. I still try to diversify my spending, from vintage VOGUE magazines to game show tickets to an Action Comics #1 reprint. It seems like the past few years is sadly separating the wealthy fans from the more casual, down-to-earth fans and the fun of simply enjoying the new product is being taken out of in favor of snobbish consumerism. Please remember we're only human and that money can't buy love like the Beatles once sang. Buy this for LOVE and PASSION, not for cockiness and smart aleckness.

Had I not successfully managed to be like, the one guy to get a Dan Duncan commission, I'd have jumped on this. But since I've already got my own badass piece, there's no incentive for me.
