Majora's Mask released at the same time as the PS2 in 2000. Kinda hilarious that Nintendo pitted a new Zelda game against the launch of the PS2.
Haha. |

Some mad bullsh*t in this thread.
Also, CyberDope with the NeoGAF style OP is sad as sh*t, but was pretty appropriate considering the sh*t posting that followed. |

I was thinking about this game the other day while playing Ocarina of time. on the ds was hoping they would release it on the DS since I don't own it on the 64 anymore such a fantastic game.

I've been in the mood to replay this game lately, but I wouldn't want there to be any changes. I don't want the Easter eggs and stuff. I'd want it to just like my N64 copy...only with sound and graphic updates. ^^

I didn't play Ocarina of Time until the 3DS version. I wanted to play Majora's Mask but I was holding out hope for this. Better graphics were all I needed. Maybe the 3DS version of Smash Bros. will get a MM stage as DLC later. Maybe bring back Melee's Termina Bay?

This is fantastic news. I love Majora's Mask! One of the best games ever made IMO. Will be getting this day 1 and enjoying every second!

As for this game, the only change I wouldn't mind (in other words, can tolerate) would be a graphics and sound upgrade because of the capabilities the 3DS have. I wouldn't want a lot of extra easter eggs and stuff. I have a 3DS, but it's a Japanese one. I wonder when the Japanese release is and if there'll be any changes made to it, like the Ocarina of Time 3D...which I, surprisingly, didn't have much of an interest in. I'm still happy with my version 1.1 copy for the N64. I like my red blood, Islamic chants, and crescent moon and star mirror shield. lol Hm, I was sort of the same way with Super Mario Bros 3 for the SNES. I didn't mind the filled in backgrounds and stuff, but I didn't care for the addition/change of something that didn't exist at the time of the original (from the NES)....Yoshi. Man that bugged the heck out of me as a kid. |

When was there ever a Yoshi in an SNES version of SMB3? I've never heard of that ever.

Forgot which one was changed, thinking back, but remember that for each world the King was transformed into something. One of them was transformed into a Yoshi for Mario All-Star's version of SMB3. Geez, it's been so long. At the time, I actually recalled which world it was and what the king was for the NES version.

Oh, you're not actually talking gameplay wise. You're just talking about some small aesthetic changes in All-Stars? That actually bugs you?
Lol ok. |

It was an unnecessary change, though. Graphics and sound upgrades and fixing glitches, no problem (better system, that's to be expected anyway), but why change something like that? At the time it bugged me because I'd played the NES version so much prior (which was how I even noticed it) and felt it was kind of a pointless change.

OOT 3D didn't really change or alter anything from the original other than adding a hint system that was completely optional, and a boss battle mode.
I'm curious if Majora's Mask will make any changes to the save system given its on a portable. In the original you could save at Owl statues if you didn't want to travel back in time to the first day again. |

I'm sure the Japanese fans would enjoy that. If I'm not mistaken, they couldn't save as easily as we could. They couldn't save through the statues.
