What do you think the turtles will look like?

Not "What would you like the turtles to look like" but what you think they WILL look like. I'd like to see what you guys are expecting in terms of design.

Honestly, I'm expecting something like this:

http://pinkhavok.deviantart.com/art/...0704878&qo=168
http://heewonlee.deviantart.com/art/...0704878&qo=118

With a little bit of this:

I hope that skin and shell texture will look like that.

but with the built and head like here
http://browse.deviantart.com/art/Leonardo-211451625
but with pupils. The white eye would just look too creepy in live action unless they were the light reflection in their eyes like here.

I get the feeling they'll look more badass than cartoony, but not on the gross side like a lot of fan art seems to be. I imagine something like this...

Mixed with more turtle-like skin like in this one...

This is probably what I think they will go for.. The first design I like but I fear they will do a little of the second one to "modernize" them. Hopefully they look really good either way.

I do like the idea of each of the turtles having their own “style”, like the second image above.

I'm hoping that they don't look too grizzly ("Out of the Shadows") or menancing (i.e. http://davidrapozaart.deviantart.com...ardo-211451625 ), otherwise it will look like the CGI team is just trying too hard to make this movie dark and gritty. They don't have to be OT/1990 movie cute or anything, but let's not have their faces be so distracting that it takes away from their "humanity", so to speak, where the shock value of their appearance distracts viewers from the events of the movie far longer than when the viewers first see them.

I'm still expecting them to look more humanoid than we've ever seen in the past. Something like the Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man. That's just based on how the actors seem to look the part, if you know what I mean. I just can't look those actors without thinking that their faces will show through the CG designs. It has to be part of why they were chosen.

They could do it like Bill Nighy in POTC, he is very creature heavy over human. Although, the Turtle actors don't have make-up effects around their eyes and mouth

What does that makeup do?

Ironically, I can't find any photos of Rhys Ifans in motion capture dots, or anything like that. I know at least some Lizard scenes were entirely CG, but I expected he at least played the character sometimes...

They're using those blonde human faces as CG material so they may have a human look.

The make-up was to mesh the actor with the CG, texture similarity etc. Davy Jones eyes and mouth was Bill's

Rhys might have just done capture for the face, similar to the CG Beowulf movie where body and facial motion capture was done separately.

The interesting part is what are they gonna look like with the mouths? in the cartoons there mouths always looked big. If they were to make them more human, There mouths would look as small as a human being. With the motion capture stuff, They will be able to have the Turtles emote better then the rubber suit ones from the previous films.

As long as they don't look like Beiboids, I think that's all that matters.

The first fan art image will most likely influence the overall look of the Turtles, as that seems to have struck a nerve in the mainstream consciousness when people look for "realistic Ninja Turtles", but I imagine they'll keep the Nick design so when Playamtes makes action figures they just have to retool the molds to fit the "movie look".

Who knows, we may get modern versions of the "Movie Star" line with the rubberized skin and Nick gear.

Yeah, I was thinking that. I mean, each of the actor's actually "look" like the character they're portraying. For example, the guy playing Michelangelo looks like the younger, fun-loving one and the guy playing Donny actually looks like a science geek. The actor's likenesses can't be a coincidence.
