Any idea on what the running time for the new TMNT movie will be?
The previous 4 movies had a short running time, This is due to them being family friendly films, Family films are known to be around 90 minutes or less.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles = 93 Minutes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze = 88 Minutes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: 96 Minutes TMNT: 87 Minutes If the new TMNT film is PG-13, Then there is that possibility that it could have a running time around 2 hours. Now I'm all for that cause i always felt movies with shorter running time are always rushed and they don't leave room for character development. This is the perfect opportunity for this new movie to explore the characters of all the Turtles so that we can get to know them more. |

Jesus christ. I hope the movie isn't 2 and a half hours long.
A ton of movies coming out lately have been long for no goddamn reason. Was 2 hours really needed for a Vince Vaughn comedy? Ninja Turtles is an action comedy. No need to have it drag on forever.

I can see it being n hour and 20 minutes. It seems to have a bare bones plot and they're not putting any effort into it.

Well, It doesn't have to be exactly 2 hours and 30, But within just the 2 hour Range.

It really depends on how enjoyable or good the movie is, then I won't care about the length. (I enjoyed long movies like Titanic and Gone With the Wind, but those are legendary movies with universal acclaim.)
...But since this is a TMNT movie and plus my expectations for this film are not really high, I'm expecting around an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours at most. |

What's the average length of one of the Transformers movies?
Your welcome.... EDIT: Dear god...it's 2.48 hours. We're doomed. EDIT x2: BUT.....Liebsman's other movies are around 90 minutes. The average duration of Battle LA, Texas Chainsaw the Beginning, and Wrath of the Titans is 1.7 hours.

The movie is still being shot and then it needs post production, any potential re-shoots, editing, sound etc.
In the end: Transformers 3: 154min Transformers 2: 150min Transformers: 144min A Nightmare on Elm St.: 95min Bad Boys 2: 147min Bad Boys: 118min The Rock: 136min Armageddon: 151min Pearl Harbor: 183min That's just looking at some of his movie. I dont know if he has any shorter than 90min. |

The other thing to remember is they always count the end credits as part of the running time.

Why is this conversation being had? The movie isn't out for another 11 months.
Either way, I'm thinking this'll be around 120 minutes, more or less. |

Yeah, that was my initial thought too, but I figured some sort of answer might help this thread fade into obscurity.

Hopefully 2:15, 2:30. That's what all the action movies run, now.

Well, We wont find out til the movie comes out, But it should be at least be right on on the 2 hour mark. You have to take into account that End Credits also count for the running time.

Calm down, buddy. 2 hours isn't the worst timing if they utilize it well. Like what someone said, it's a good length of time for action and character development. Last thing we need is another rushed TMNT product.

True, but how many recent over 2 hour films have felt sooooo long. I'm sure Lone Ranger didn't benefit from it's extensive run time.

I'm hoping for around 120 minutes. 90 feels short for a live action blockbuster to me, especially for an origin film that has to establish a lot.
I dig TMNT1 a lot but there's plenty room for more scenes in there if they'd wanted. But then I'm always one to love long films. Most of my favorites tend to run long (150+ minutes) Could TMNT sustain a running time that long? Personally, with the right story and pacing, I really think it could. And it would be awesome! I've really never understood those who don't like long films. I love movies, and I'll sit through as much as I have to because I'm enjoying every minute of it. And there are plenty of films that deserve their long running times. More isn't always better... that's not what I'm trying to say. But when there's likely to be at least 2 years, if not 3+, until TMNT 2 (assuming we're that 'lucky'), I'd like a beefier film so we have more to dig into until the next one is out. |

When the movie becomes engaging and your getting into the story and the world it creates, You often forget about the movie ever being long.
The people who complain about movies being too long in general are the kind who get bored at certain parts that they would deem boring. |

I agree, that if a movie is engaging and you're invested in the story, length isn't an issue. Strip all of that away and a long movie can feel like it goes on FOREVER.....FOREVER....
