I'm glad you found one. I was able to score three SNES Classics myself when they came out. Each from a different store. One for myself, one for a co-worker, and one for a friend. Still, it would be cool if I could spot just one in a store like that just for the heck of it.

What magical realm are you guys in? I've not only never seen one, I've never met anybody who has.

I am visiting family in NE Indiana...that's where I found mine.

When I saw them sitting there, I audibly gasped to the point that people nearby stopped and turned around. For about 15 seconds I was trying to convince myself they were real. I mean, that many consoles sitting on a Best Buy shelf the day before Christmas Eve? I had checked their stock online and it claimed the item was sold out.

Maybe Nintendo really does plan to strongly support it in retail stores, which makes scalpers all the more despicable.

It's the same thing with the guardian amiibos from the Breath of the Wild series, but I've been seeing those in Best Buy stores.

Sadly, some people would actually rather support scalpers than Nintendo because the SNES Classics tend to be so scarce.

So I tried out A Link to the Past and I like it a lot (I've never played a Zelda game before). Is there anything on 3DS/DS that approximates its aesthetic and 2d feel?

Link's Awakening DX is on the VC on the 3DS which is the Game Boy direct sequel to ALTTP and I like it more than ALTTP, the DX version adds color and an extra dungeon and some censoring.

A Link Between Worlds is also a sequel to ALTTP this time it was a game for 3DS, it got a lot of praise, I didn't play it but it mirrors ALTTP apparently.

I managed to get my hands on a Super Famicom Mini! Got it on Christmas Eve. I read that here in Japan that it sold better than the Famicom Mini, or that the interest for it was higher, or something like that. Think it said the Super Famicom sold more units when it originally came out its opening weekend compared to the Famicom Mini. Was it the same for the SNES and NES Mini?

It's nice playing these games again, and finally playing the ones I never had the opportunity to play as a kid, like Mega Man X and Super Metroid, for example.

The Nes mini was highly sought after and resells currently at 3x its original value usually despite being used.....

The SNES mini was similar the system also resells higher than the original purchase price. but usually by only $40 more. Not as bad as the NES mini which sold for $60 in store and resells between $150-200

Not gonna lie, as an SNK fan that bought the PS4 for KOF14... kinda disappointed that the new SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy looks like it'll only be for the Switch...
