Probably a reference to Henson working on the first movie...

Or I'm putting too much thought into it.

I saw that on TV yesterday. This must mean the movie is set in the '90s. How else would a kid know who the TMNT are?

BTW, did anyone ever notice that Tokka was a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal? I suppose a still Skeksis has to put food on the table.

If you like The Neverending Story or Ridley Scott's Legend, then yes.

I saw the commercial for the first time yesterday. I couldn't help but laugh. I was like, "So Kermit, who was originally trying out for one of the Punk Frogs, has graduated to being an honorary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle."

I didn't even think about how maybe the small reference is a throwback to Jim Henson studios who did work on the original first movie. If it is, awesome reference. ^_^

Anyone see the TMNT-inspired episode of Workaholics?

It was called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Roommates."

It was really funny and it had a lot of references to the movie.

You can tell the creators (the three main characters) were actually fans of the movie.

If you haven't seen that episode (or the show in general), you should definitely check it out.
