Similarities between Lotus Blossom and Karai

Also, how is Lotus Blossom similar to Karai beyond:

1. Is a Ninja
2. Cooperates with the Turtles for a reason
3. Has a vagina

I mean ****, you might as well claim Elektra, Katana, Lady Shiva and Yukio all served as inspiration for one or both characters.

I guess we can call 2012 Karai a summing up of all the previous version of the character.

- The notion of Leonardo being the only worthy opponent she found from the Mirage comics Karai and from the 2003 TMNT Karai.
- The looks from Leonardo's wife from the "Blind sight" comic.
- The romantic connection toward Leonardo and her doubts about what the Foot clan's real motives are from the 1987 cartoon series' Lotus Blossom.
- The position of second in command in the Foot from the IDW series Karai but different from that Karai, her bitter rivalry is with Tiger claw.

Actually, her feelings toward Leo and him being the only worthy opponent, as well as her sense of honor, can all be traced back to Lotus Blossom's original ep. She not only stated he was very skilled, but she left him her trademark flower as a token, and then at the end she makes a regretful comment that "perhaps one day, Leonardo, you and I will be on the same side". So she clearly had feelings for him even then, and admired his skill. She also had a sense of honor regarding betrayals in that same episode. In her second ep, she DID seek the turtles for help, when she was having the dreams about the ancient warlord whose ghost was haunting her. Just like Karai later did all of these things in her various incarnations. So, yes, there are definitely similarities, regardless of her minor differences in characterization.
