Color Out Of Space

Saw this tonight - what a great movie. I've been a fan of Lovecraft for a long time now, and I've got to say that this movie captured so much of what makes Lovecraft great but included some terrific modern sensibilities.

It's filmed like an 80's Spielberg movie in all the right ways - shot well, bright and embraces the science-fiction as it revolves around a family dynamic. And it does a terrific job at capturing the madness that wraps itself around Cage and his family - madness born of incomprehension is a Lovecraftian staple and it's all over this movie.

Definitely worth seeing.

ADORED Mandy from 2018 so I’m super interested to check this out. The score was composed by the same guy who did Hereditary too, so that’s just as awesome.

There were a few notes across the score that had a Blade Runner 2049 vibe - I loved it. It's a very "1980's" movie, but I mean that in all of the best-80's movies ways. The way it is filmed, the coloring, everything.

Totally agreed. It's bathed in '80s without feeling like it's trying to be.
