TV seasons and breaks

Last year, many of us here got mad at Nickelodeon and their constant breaks during TMNT, right in the middle of seasons. But do you watch anything else, which seems to take very long breaks all the time?

Game of Thrones
Westworld
Atlanta
Rick and Morty

It's not that uncommon, though still frustrating

In the worst cases, it's like this:

A season starts in late-August and episodes air weekly during September. In October comes the MLB baseball playoff game series, causing a long break.

New weekly episodes are back in November, with a Thanksgiving or Christmas episode around 19th-20th. By late-November the series go on a long Christmas break lasting throughout late-November, during December and into mid-January. During Christmas you're supposed to be home watching a children's and family friendly film.

Series returns in late-January. During February and March come new breaks, with all the American football Super Bowl-game and all award ceremonies like Grammy and Oscar.

If there are Olympic Winter Games in February, like 2010, 2014 and 2018, the February breaks may be longer.

By early-April, series is back and airs until season finale in late-April or early-May.

For me it's rare to watch an ongoing show, I just can't deal with hiatuses and end up forgetting what was going on or just moved on to something else since I'm not in the mood for that show anymore.

I mostly try to watch things that are about to finish so when I get to the end it's not really that big of a wait or just shows that are finished. Yeah, it means I miss out on discussions but I still prefer it that way.

With Nick 2012 I watched the first two seasons but gave up after the first episode of Season 3 mainly for that reason and didn't end up watching it again until I the last season was about to finish.

Season 3 aired weekly for the first three episodes.
