This issue will sell more than the ongoing #80 and universe #20 combined. That’s sorta weird to think about.

I am actually enjoying this cross over more than most people, but I guess I had low expectations after how the last one ended.

Well, this issue got it's own internet feature story, so that means it's a RAGING success, right?
https://screenrant.com/batman-ninja-...ic-bane-venom/ And if a generation of casual fans pick this one up on a whim, it could well contribute to a developing public consciousness about how characters like Bane and Donatello should/shall be portrayed going forward!

I can't get over Batman saying "Donnie", especially interspersed with "Donatello". Pulls me out of the story every single time.

So I finished it, Bane is definitely doing the same thing Nolan's "Dark Knight Rises" Bane did in that he wants to take over the city. In fact I hear him with that awful Bane voice Tom Hardy did in the movie, "And we give the power back to you.....the Peeeeeopleeeee."
Splinter is revived by the Lazarous Pits. Don is still out of character, this writers doesn't know that Don would *never* consider himself weaker than his brothers, but oh well. The story flowed better as the issues progressed. There's also an interesting plot twist on the last page when Batman goes to recruit someone to help him take out Bane, I want to see how that goes. |

Yeah, I noticed that inconsistent use of nicknames too. Batman is the kind of guy who would either go with one or the other exclusively. I feel the same way ever time I read a comic with Splinter using the nicknames on occasion.

This Bane is just the typical "RAWR-Venom-back-break-conquer-RAWR" monster that's been the public perception since forever. UGH.

Batman needs my help because he is to weak to defeat Bane. After i beat Batman two times now he begs me to help him take down Bane. What a pathetic coward he is!

Here's my full summary and review of Batman/TMNT II #5 at TMNT Entity.
Yikes. This was about as predictable as it gets. But even looking past the whole Donnie-hooked-on-Venom thing, the worst bit was Splinter's coma and recovery. He gets better off-panel! Why'd they even bother including that in the first place; it has no impact on the plot. I'm just sorta twiddling my fingers until this miniseries is over, now. Sorry. |

Good lord this issue was even worse than I'd anticipated
I wonder if the original draft had Splinter insane for a longer time after being resurrected by the Lazarus pit, otherwise how does the cover of the issue make any sense?
