http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/10/politi...sia/index.html

"The point here is simple: With each passing week, the story seems to change when it comes to Trump and Russia. And, in almost every instance, what we find is more smoke around those connections. We don't have fire yet -- as Trump like to remind people (and he's right). But, man oh man, the smoke just keeps getting thicker."

You heard it first from CNN -- the smoke around Trump is getting thicker! Can't be long now.

8 Years of Trump will end up being blamed on them at this rate.

I would argue that this "morphing" hasn't been slow, it's just that non-marginalized folks are now realizing it's happening....because now it's starting to affect them.

But yeah, the whole Southern Strategy is a hell of a thing to read about.

The media is fairly happy with the presidency, I'm sure ratings are good for most of them since they have such a polarizing president. They're filling the news cycle with FAKE news and when the President does a bunch of horrible things he just calls the media FAKE news and when you turn on the TV and see FAKE news then who do you believe. No one has learned anything from this past election.

We're in for what appears a rough 8 years and we have no one to blame but the media and whining culture. A part of me thinks the consequences are necessary for people to learn and deserved but then again I am being affected a lot by it and more than the average person who holds dearly to their opinions.

So long as we've got the Electoral College, no third party has a chance.
Which, considering what we've got for third parties might just be the ONLY good thing about the EC to begin with.

As for the people who voted in favor of this administration...
Good luck to them. I hope there are enough of them to complete their Go Fund Me accounts, because...I'm sure as hell not helping them with anything.

I'm curious as to why several folks are saying it will be 8 years. They DO realize the next presidential election is in only FOUR years don't they? I seriously doubt Chump will last longer than that- not when buyers remorse is already setting in for so many.....

I'd be willing to bet most people don't realize we have elections ever November.
And because of that...yeah, he'll likely get re-elected in four.

I'm sure gerrymandering and continued blocks to voters' rights will have absolutely no role to play in that either.

I have faith in my fellow man.

...

Not that they'll make informed rational decisions, but that they'll live down to my expectations.

I'm rarely disappointed.

I am curious to see who the democrats will dust off to face him in 2020. It won't be a Hillary Clinton, or anyone like that at all.

I dunno. In my area at least it seens he has lost a lot of the support he had before. Even the people who voted for him are questioning why they did. If the same holds true in other Red states his own party might turn against him.

Which is a shame, because she was actually qualified for the job.

In the meantime I'll be making sure my Aunt attire is ready and freshly pressed.

Under his eye.

Good god his ardent supporters are insufferable.

Sorry, that was uncalled for. Seriously, though, unless his health takes a major decline, he'll be running again.

I don't doubt he will, and I wish him the best.
Much like another Socialist Jew I know, it's not him I have a problem with...but his fanclub.

It's going to be 8 years because instead of looking at why Trump won when it should've been a landslide victory for whoever ran against him. But instead of looking at what alienated voters they're using the same god damn strategies that did not work in the primaries nor the eleciton.

Sure, let's attack Trump on anything whether it's true or half-true, that surely won't come back to bite them. Let's continue to give power to SJWs who get offended over everything and are alienating the majority of the population. It wasn't "us" it was Russia who got Trump elected.

The worst part of Andrew's trolling of "this time it'll actually happen..." is that he doesn't even post all the articles that the mainstream media is putting out.

Anywho, about the whole "it's only a two party system" well a multi-party system is not necessarily good either in a winner takes all type of democracy since often there are many parties that split the vote and the least popular party ends up in control since there was no one to divide up the vote there. This is what happens in my current country and it's a huge problem. Literally everyone hates the elected party but no one can agree on which other party should win so the vote is split and the hated party wins again when everyone would've preferred any other choice.

Report: Trump Son Informed Russia Meeting Was Effort To Aid His Father's Campaign(via NPR)

Quote:

After dismissing such a meeting as routine opposition research gathering that typically happens during campaigns — although typically such meetings wouldn't happen with foreign government — Trump Jr. also tweeted Monday that he would be happy to "pass on what I know" to Senate and House Intelligence Committees investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 elections and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. That statement came after Maine GOP Sen. Susan Collins said the president's son needs to speak to the committee.

Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner, D-Va., told reporters at the Capitol Monday that he "absolutely" wanted to talk to Trump's son, calling it part of a "continuing pattern we've seen since the election of Trump campaign and Trump administration officials who have conveniently forgotten meetings with Russians."

"If I was a campaign manager and had been contacted by what may be an agent of a foreign power and was told that agent may have damaging information about a potential candidate, I think I would remember that meeting," Warner said. "And I think it's also a little strange, as a candidate, if my son or son-in-law met with an official or an agent of a foreign power I think I'd probably want to hear about that information."
So is this going to bring about a new investigation or just get swept under the rug?
