Much like Carrie and Debbie, I just heard she was even sick.

My thoughts go to her family.

So sad to hear yet another TV legend has passed on. Used to love watching old episodes of Dick Van Dyke on Nick at Nite.

While living to 80 is a nice long life, it's still sad, but at least they lived a full life.

But damn, 2017 is turning out to be the next 2016. Over the next 11 months I dread to think of all the possible celebrity deaths coming.

It's almost as if people die on a regular basis, regardless of current year.

Let's not forget the great Celebrity Purge of 1984...we lost Ray Kroc and Truman Capote.

I just saw this. I did not see it coming. I thought Valerie Harper was on her death bed and Dick Vsn Dyke is 91. Yet they survived her. She is the 2nd greatest woman of TV after Lucille Ball. Was there a cause given?

I wrote about this before in my predictions of 2017 on my site and every year we'll continue seeing more and more celebrities dying and that's because celebrities are getting older, thanks to TV/Movies we got tons of "superstar" celebrities that everyone knows and as they get older they'll be dying so of course there'll always be tragic deaths but for the most part it'll be because of age and for that reason this trend that started in 2016 will only happen every year and the trend will only finish when we're all gone since the rise of the internet has pretty much killed the "superstar" celebrity that everyone knows, I mean they still exist but not in the numbers they did in the early 00's and more but what we see more is "internet celebrities" who have a smaller niche audience and it won't be as huge when they die since they'll have smaller communities that are going to be sad about it.

Still 2017 hasn't been as bad as 2016.

Thank God for Google, because I have no idea who they were.

Honestly a lot of the time when someone famous dies and its reported everywhere...I have no idea who they are. To be fair most of it is because these are famous people before my time, people who were in fame during the 60's, 70's, or 80's.

Aside from the few I've watched in movies or later on, I don't really follow any old shows before I was born.

You mean you've never watched I Love Lucy... or Bewitched... or even The Brady Bunch?

I know of them, but I've never sat down to watch through them. I've probably seen random episodes or clips online.

Really? Truman Capote wrote a pair of classic novels with Breakfast at Tiffany's perhaps known for the Audrey Hepburn film adaptation and In Cold Blood among other crime novellas.

Ray Kroc, a milkshake machine salesmen bought the rights to franchuse the McDonald's rights and created the world's most successful restaurant/fast food service. He didn't create it but he innovated. The long delayed, limited release Oscar contender, The Founder focuses on gis life story and stars Michael Keaton.

1979 and 2012 are notable years of celebrity deaths. I would argue that 2009 might be the biggest. South Park even memorably took notice in an unfavorable manner.
