Another Positive Review from Rotten Tomatoes.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles delivers a slightly different take on the series... and though it gets some things wrong along the way, it gets just as much right.

That seems just about right, Teenagers do have out of control hormones when they see a hot girl.

I live in the Dallas/Forth Worth area in Texas and it's nice to see that one of the critics from my area had positive things to say about the film.

Quote:
If you liked the comic patter and pop-culture references of Guardians of the Galaxy, you probably won’t mind sitting through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the younger ones.
While the film gets a PG-13 rating for action violence — and the chases, explosions and battles skillfully directed by Jonathan Liebesman verge on exhausting — it’s mostly cartoonish fun aimed at showing off 3-D effects. It’s likely to be popular with the 7-to-12 crowd.

Transformers star Megan Fox plays April O’Neil, the intrepid TV reporter trying to rise above fluff coverage to something serious in this clever reboot to the 30-year-old franchise. The sly joke is that this aspiration leads to the pursuit of four ninja-trained turtle brothers named for Renaissance painters who mutated through a lab experiment into being tall, upright and fluent in English.
“So, you’re ... Ninja Mutant Turtle Teenagers?” April asks as Donatello responds: “When you put it like that, it sounds ridiculous!”

Evan Daugherty, son of Dallas Children’s Theater resident playwright Linda Daugherty, is one of the three writers credited for the witty script that folds the turtles’ weakness for pizza into a convoluted Star Wars-like battle against Shredder, a sinister being set on destroying New York City.

The turtles (engagingly voiced by Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Johnny Knoxville and Jeremy Howard) look terrific, with weathered skin and character-specific accessories, such as the shell necklace for freewheeling Michelangelo. Whoopi Goldberg and Will Arnett offer deft double takes as the boss and camera man who think April’s crazy, with Arnett’s Vernon playing along because he’s got a crush on her.

The best part is that the film has heart: The brothers spar but learn, with the help of their adoptive father (a mutated rat named Splinter, nicely voiced by Tony Shalhoub), about the strength waiting to be tapped in their untraditional family. Cowabunga, dudes.

Yeah, 101 is a good Runtime for the film. That's 1 hour and 41 minutes.

Just got back and had a blast.

The gloom and doom here is pretty sad.

Just go in with a fresh mind and you may end up happy.

It's slick, its funny, the Turtles all rule and the action is fun.

No, it's not the smartest written thing in the world and much of the side characters are pointless (but so what? Who cares?) but it's a damn fun time that made me say "Awesome, I just saw a new TMNT film."

Stop being doom and gloom and setting up preconceived notions and you may end up being surprised.

I usually don't go for the "the critics are BIASED" argument but with this....ya I definitely think there is some HEAVY bias from professionals and fanboys alike. This is NOT a 17% worthy film. AT ALL. I've seen 17% movies and this is not it.

Awesome Movie

Our local theater had two early showings today for TMNT fans !! My wife and I loved the movie overall it's fun, exciting , and very enjoyable to watch. I'm sure all the true TMNT fans will watch the movie over the weekend to support their love for the turtles too!!

Good to hear, I hope it's enjoyable enough that the non-fan going with me will like it, too.

Although I'm sure there's more to being a true fan than supporting just one movie.

It was a whoooooole lot better than what I expected. It's not the best Turtles movie, but I enjoyed it and it was a LOT of fun. I'm a Mirage nut and if I can enjoy it, anyone can.

im seeing a consistent trend in the - "its a retarded movie about ninja mutated turtles, what were you expecting?" and the movie itself seems to acknowledge that the content its selling you is apparently dumb beyond belief.

but there's a difference between knowing you have an out there, light hearted concept (guardians of the galaxy, im looking at you), and one that you keep insisting is so dumb that the content doesnt matter and you treat it as much.

i keep seeing it mentioned in reviews, and of all places - here.

It was awesome. The key word is "fun." I've seen it twice, already, and I'm going back tomorrow.

You know what couldn't possibly make a good, serious, smart movie?

A movie about a billionaire orphan who dresses up like a bat and punches criminals.

What a silly, dumb concept.

Well, that was exactly what I thought it would be.

I will be in a bad mood for the rest of the night, I'm certain. The rest of the year, maybe.

And you can have a movie that's "fun" and not also "terribly written and dumb."

As it appears this movie is.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.
