I'm pretty sure the plan was always to remake everything up to 4 at least.

I'm intrigued but I have never been great at these games. More of a Silent Hill guy, at least in practice. I like the whole idea of RE but I am not good at resource management. I've started RE0 a few times because I insist on playing the series in storyline order but I always screw myself somehow.

Yeah, this just means the wife will own the living room for a month or so.

Haha, for months I had to wait for mine to be done for the day with Red Dead 2 before I was allowed to play anything. I feel you, boss.

Dude, my wife is STILL owning the living room with Red Dead 2. Like, even tonight.

Which is fine, because I'm busy, but shesus.

It's apparently really great.

I, er... still gotta play the first one.

To give you some idea of what kind of ridiculous people we are, I literally just started Shenmue for the First Time Ever, and we're planning on buying a Wii U next week. No, I'm not kidding.

Apparently you should play the second one first... the first one is a sequel to it, in the story.

I dunno... I want to play it, though I almost feel like I've already played it 1,000 times just by watching her play it.

Buying a Wii U wasn't a bad investment on my part. Lots of Zelda games there you can't get anywhere else.

I'm aware of the Red Dead story order, but many people still swear that it pays to play it in release order simply because 1. The second game is simply better than the first, and 2. Many of the story beats in the second game only hit a certain intended way if the player has played the first game and knows what's being foreshadowed.

My plan is to one day first play them in release order, then later in story order. Sadly I'm not "allowed" to touch RDR2 until she's "done" with it, though.

And yeah, I actually have a list of about twenty Wii U games I want, and that's enough to justify a purchase for me, especially since stores are pretty much just giving them away now. We were kicking around ideas for picking up a "new old" console when we got paid next, and that won out over a Dreamcast. Mostly because I can still go right to a store and buy almost all the games I want for it without having to go online.

Y'know what else I need, is a region-free PS2. One that actually plays discs, not one that's modded for emulators and such. But apparently that's gotten tough to find. Because I've needed a new PS2 for over ten years and I seriously missed a lot of Japanese wrestling games I simply must have.

Clearly my priorities are awesome.

Someone said something similar the other day, and the person they were talking to replied by going into the tactile feel of a game and the way you just can't appreciate or recognize quality of life type improvements to a game until you actually get your hands on it. Then you become truly immersed.

Thought it was an interesting point.

Certainly feels like it's well overdue.

Also, what'd I miss?

Finished it and.... it’s pretty inferior compared to RE2.

Thank God I didn’t get the collector’s edition.

The original RE 3 also felt like that when compared to RE2 though.

I played a good 50 hours or more of RE2 last year between Steam and PS4.

After playing through the main campaign twice, I think this game was worth it, but not as good by comparison. Having played the original, it was tough to temper my expectations given what got cut/moved around.

I don't own and never played either of the remakes (though I did play all of the originals), and I'd never seen Mr. X's this close up. Is it just me, or does he sort of look like Freddy Krueger? I wonder if that's intentional?

it is better than 2 because it has more action.

I prefer "2", but I enjoy this nearly as much. Great game. Short on length if you aren't interested in extracting what I'd say the real value is by playing again with unlocks, so that is something to keep in mind, but as someone who doesn't mind a short burst of a campaign, I found it to be a quite enjoyable, "high-octane" experience.

The way I typically play games is that I'll pick one up that I've been looking forward to, absolutely veg out on it for a week or so, and then completely burn out and not want to play any video games for 2-3 months. Then the cycle repeats. So, when it comes to large, expansive games, it can be difficult for me to maintain direction and interest. If there is great campaign I can beat in a few days, or even a few hours ("Inside" comes to mind), then I am interested.
