I thought we all knew already! The f*ck was I supposed to know that another grown man took "The Parent Trap" of all things so goddamn seriously?! Plus... c'mon. Bruce f*cking Wayne wasn't such good pals with his butler and his parents were f*cking DEAD. Am I the only one who notices these things?! THAT GIRL WAS IN TROUBLE!

You, too, eh? Hubby and I used to invade our local Denny's late at night with a group of friends when we were still dating and take over the back corner. And once, we went in- just the two of us- dressed in very "nondescript professional casual" attire, and we pretended to be making some kind of deal about a "hit", complete with a folder with some random papers (actually D&D character sheets and old schoolwork) and a roll of fake money- the works. Had a whole conversation over how/when/etc. Juuust loud enough for other tables to "overhear" what was going on. Great prank, we had one table get up and leave in a hurry, a couple that came in, heard us talking, and then found a table as far away as they could get, and another couple with kids kept shooting us nervous glances and telling them to stop staring at us. It was hilarious. Got even better when our friend who always dressed in a long trench and a "Dundee" style hat came in and joined us. He's also very dark Latino with long hair and a full beard, so he made a kind of suspicious figure. We left later that night laughing our rears off over all the reactions we were getting!

I know that as-scripted it was an entirely different movie than what it ended up being once filmed, so I'm pretty sure it began as a Rocky Horror sequel and it ends in the original script with Curry and Cruise giving each other a prostate massage while the girl sits in the corner and cries over a gallon of ice cream about how "all the nice ones" end up gay.

You think I'm joking, but this goes deeper than you even know.

Hmm, the only problem I have with this theory is that Jack and Lily DID end up together! I mean, he even went BACK into the pond to retrieve the d@*n ring she tossed in as her challenge at the beginning! And the last shot in the film is LITERALLY of them together with the elf and dwarves, waving as the two unicorns run off happily together into the sunset. So, if anyone was gay, it was Curry. And that goblin weirdo.

Wikipedia and "Word-Of-God" says that the movie's ending is misleading. As-scripted and shot, they do not actually end up together, they agree to just stay Really Good Friends ("Gay Best Friend" trope?). The studio took final cut away from the filmmakers and clip/pasted a different ending because they knew it would make more money.

That movie is a very fascinating story of What Is vs. What Almost Was, as the movie they wrote ended up being almost nothing like the movie they made, mostly due to studio meddling. Like it's not a bad movie but it's very "safe" and generic which is the total opposite of what the creators originally wanted to make, so that's a shame. I've only ever seen the Director's Cut for the last 10+ years so I can't even remember the American theatrical version. It's got some fairly big differences compared to the American Theatrical cut, including the ending.

Most of the world saw the Director's Cut, and it's the only version of the movie that the people who made it embrace, so that's what's "canon", to me. It's not even close to the movie they wanted to make, but it's "closer" to what they wanted people to see. So I personally defer to that.
