There is difference with weaving message into the movie and making message the centerpiece of the movie where everything is secondary. Second way doesn't usually elevate its artistic qualities.
I am not saying it is the case with CapMar, but it is the case with its marketing, sadly.

People were fine with these ideologies back when they were far more subtle and didn't intrude on the story, and struck a good balance between the genders and races.

It's not about having political message in the movie, it's about going about it with a grace of an elephant in a porcelain shop.

Original Star Wars also had political "agenda", but it was gracefully woven into movie and didn't detract from enjoying it as the story.
The story was written and, more importantly, presented in such way, so you didn't need "author mouthpiece" in the film itself or hilarious ads and articles in magazines to understand allusions and what is what.

No-one loves to be preaching.
No-one loves outright blunt propaganda.

With this kind of marketing you have to accept it for what it is: marketing. The "SJW" slant is not going to have an impact on the actual movie. I don't care if Brie Larson said something "feminist" to promote the film. It's literally her job. Every advertising campaign has a narrative to push because it solidifies the concept of the film in the public mind. The casual viewer might care about the "sjw" aspect, but the fans are going to see this movie regardless, so why market towards them? Those tickets are already sold. It's the general public that needs to get informed and hyped up for the movie, and this is just a way to do it.

The point is, ignore the marketing if you don't like it. It's not going to have any effect on the movie. Marvel has a good track record of making passable, entertaining movies- and this is probably going to be just more of the same.

Yeah, I don't mind if the SJW stuff is just in the marketing. Albeit, it makes me worry for what the "important" take may be in the movie... but if at the end of the day none of that stuff is prevalent in said movie, I'm good.

Captain Marvel is an effective Avengers prequel in some ways akin to the 1st Captain America movie. It’s pro-woman without being overdone with pre and post credit scenes that made me tear up and gave me goosebumps respectively
