I'm at the stage where I have grown tired of this, never mind wanting a reboot already.
I did enjoy the franchise previously though.

It probably won't be a reboot, no. Just some other pirate played by someone up and coming and vaguely effeminate (I could see them casting Tom Hiddleston or something) on other adventures, maybe with cameos from pre-existing supporting cast members or maybe not. Johnny Depp cameo at some point, too.

Sounds laughably plausible. Tom Hiddleston, I didn't expect that one, though.

Judging by what Stuart Beattie, one the writers of the original film, said, it appears that Depp is done with playing Jack Sparrow.

It should had died with the third film, your just gonna keep getting diminishing returns and when that happens, let the franchise die already and do something new.
