Here is the entirety of the TMNT portion of the Vanilla Ice bio-comic. You can tell it's high quality because there's a typo in both panels.

Thank's wild; I may list it anyway, even though I personally do not feel it has much merit and count it as a true "cameo" (even though it fits every definition of the word).

I prefer to view it as a walk-on appearance of the guys who wore the Movie Turtle costumes for Secret of the Ooze.

Thank you, that's exactly what I'll relegate it as.

You should, just to have a 'complete as possible' list of all the Turtle appearances, even guys in Turtle costumes in an unauthorized biography about Vanilla Ice.

Gnatrat appearance

Quote:
# Darerat/Tadpole Flip Book
...
# Gnatrat (need specific issue #s)
The specific issue # would be null. I find no TMNT in Gnatrat: Dark Gnat Returns, Happy Birthday Gnatrat, or Gnatrat: The Movie.

In the Darerat/Tadpole Flip Book, a humanoid turtle is seen delivering a pizza (from Splinter's Pizza) in one panel, but does not speak.
Additionally, this appearance is collected in the Ultimate Gnatrat TPB.

Not directly TMNT-related, but is there any material in Dark Gnat Returns, Happy Birthday Gnatrat or the Darerat/Tadpole flipbook that is NOT reprinted in the Ultimated Gnatrat TPB?

That was the thing that always mystified me about the turn the franchise took when Eastman and Laird licensed the cartoon and the parallel comic book published by the same outfit that gave us Archie. The turtles' original origin story? The whole thing hinges on a for-Christ's-sake rape-murder!!!!
from here.

Well, without doing a full-on side-by-side comparison, I know a color poster/insert bound in Darerat/Tadpole wasn't included. Ultimate Gnatrat's indicia just says "Much of the material in this book was originally published in The Dark Gnat Returns, Happy Birthday Gnatrat, and Darerat/Tadpole: Prankster-- Lots of pages in The Ultimate Gnatrat are brand new, however, and make it well worth buying even if you have all the grubby old comics."

how many variant covers to Image's TMNT #1 were there? Just the two? How rare is the second?

I believe there's only two covers for the Image #1.

As far as rarity, I asked about that some time back-- best answer came from Andrew: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/sho...1&postcount=16 --granted, the answer was that no one remembers the cover's print run.

There's a seller on amazon who might have a box of them-- search for "image turtles variant". Price is decent compared to anywhere else, and he's sold two or three that I know of-- one was to me.

Not sure which person it was you got yours from, but I paid $8 bucks for mine on Amazon. It was listed in the seller's description as the Chicago Con Exclusive, and the ad did not have a cover picture.

Yep, same listing. He's asking $8.99 presently, but Amazon tells me I bought one back in September. MyComicShop's asking $30 for this variant.

Another in the This Barely Counts series-- from Samurai Penguin #4:

wherein a parody of Boris the Bear dies and goes to a Hell full of 'funny animal' characters. Yep.
