That Shredder reminds me of orokusakishredder on this forum.
I guess he really did come to life.

I always thought those extra features on the DVD were a little strange. Especially Shredder's. Andrew's point is spot on, 1990 Shredder never wanted to take over the world (at least, there's nothing to indicate that). He had his hands full just taking over one city.

I would imagine Leonardo would like other types of music besides traditional Japanese.

Food is time, time better spent capturing those pesky Turtles.

Wow, thank for those, oldmanwinters. Guess that kinda answers my question.

LMAO Splinter listens to Reggae music? I mean, Splinter in the 1990 movie was more like a "hip old man", so i guess it's not that strange. Hell, he even says "Cowabunga" in the movie. Some people to this day still believe "Cowabunga" was started by Splinter and not Michelangelo. But most think it's either Mike or Bart Simpson who started it, anyway.

How did he manage to become muscular and a good fighter then?

Nick Turtles-All together like heavy metal.

Donnie does indicate he likes classical music since we do hear some classical piece in the Shellraiser. Then when Raph indicates he’s feels he’s being subjected to it. Donnie says “Wait until you hear the second movement?” He then presses a button and switchs to rock music.

I would go as far to say Donnie has eclectic tastes when it comes to music. Since when Mikey is trying out the MP3 player that Donnie created in “I think his name is Baxter Stockman” the first thing that comes on is polka music. There is a probability that Donnie downloaded to test if it worked.

While I doubt Donnie listens to Polka Music nor would he openly admit to doing so. I think maybe he privately listens to music to get into the zone while he’s working. And what he’s listening to depends on his mood.

When I personally listen to pandora I have several stations ranging from various rock/pop such as 80’s, 90’s classics, and Today’s styled rock such as Linkin Park. But I also have country, broadway show music, Christian Rock as a guilty pleasure (Though I don’t really like the songs where they beat you over the head with the name of Jesus Christ. There is a big difference between “Jesus take the Wheel” and “Jesus Freak” ) Japanese Anime music, Holiday performances by Transiberian Orchestra, Celtic Music, Acapella, and such. Most of the time I keep my stations of Shuffle so I am not tied down to a spacific genre. But occasionally when the mood strikes I do settle on one station or because I work better listening to one genre rather then multiple.

Leo I can see him listening to Traditional Japanese music and Meditative Music. But I can also see him listening to J-Pop and J-rock as a guilty pleasure.

Raph is definitely into death metal and hip hop. since in the “In Dreams” episode when Raphael is being tormented by Dread Bever. There is a moment where Leo, Donnie, and Mikey look like are straight out of Insain Clown Posse. And they music they were playing with their weapons was a death metal performance.

I can also see Raph maybe liking something unexpected as a private guilty pleasure such as maybe country or Showtunes.

Mikey likes rock, rap, and pop hands down. Though he will try out any genre music to see why his brothers and friends like them. Or simply to expand his tastes. Though classical music is likely to put him to sleep and Polka is audibly offensive to the point where it can be used as torture. Broadway showtunes maybe interesting to him, though it depends on the show (Who here seriously can’t see Mikey break into a rousing version of “The sun will come out tomorrow” from Annie. Or coming up with something to the tune of “Good morning Baltimore” about the Turtle lair) Such as maybe enjoying the soundtrack of Cats so long as its with Ice Cream Kitty, but will be more dismissive of shows such as Oaklahoma, Annie get your gun, or My Fair Lady. Ultimately he enjoys anything that has a beat he can get into.

Casey likes heavy metal, rock, and rap and nothing you can say or do would make him like anything else.

April I do see as being varied in her tastes. She will gravitate to some genre more then others. Maybe movie sound tracks, rock, and pop. I can see her liking some groups like Enya, Celtic women, the High Kings, Celtic thunder, and Westlife. Not enough to go out and collect the albums but maybe listen to while she is working on her homework.

Maybe your two comments are not meant to be directly related, but ICP is a hip-hop group, not death metal.

I had a couple of friends who were into ICP. I wasn’t particularly familiar with the group. The music Leo, Donnie, and Mikey were doing was a death metal performance though. And Dred Beavers dream was using Raph’s inner fear against him, which appeared to be his brothers all dying and Raph not being able to do anything to stop it.

Or since there was a white snake, perhaps Karai killing his brothers and Raph being forced to watch as it happened and unable to stop it from happening.

Provided if Shredder was born in the modern time period I kinda seem him enjoying 80/90s rock music and jazz
2k3/IDW Hun would probably enjoy punk and rap
Karai from various incarnations would also enjoy punk and rap with some pop music thrown in.
Baxter would probably mostly enjoy country and classical
Bebop and Rocksteady would pretty much listen to everything.

Shredder has bulimia

As for the OP question it depends on which incarnation of the turtles and we usually have some type of answer for each incarnation.

I like to think that he only did all that because he was throwing a tantrum at someone playing their music too loud.

The invention that Krang 'gave him' wasn't even supposed to do that, and he just took it because he was getting annoyed. Getting only a "*sigh* be back by five."

But yeah, I do think Shredder would be a smooth jazz man.

Somehow I picture him being more into female J-pop bands. Like the chicks performing in the Tokyo club in Kill Bill. I dunno, that just seems like something he would like, especially if they dress like school girls.....

I always pictured Shredder as being into "villain songs" like Be Prepared from the Lion King, or perhaps one of the themes in Call of Duty when the bad guys win like this:

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

So, Shredder likes show tunes sung by/about villains? Poor Unfortunate Soul, Gaston, Hellfire, Mine, Every Little Piece, anything from Wicked, etc? Hmm, I can go for that. As long as you also include stuff like Sympathy For the Devil, Being Evil Has a Price, and the like.

What about chracters other than the Turtles and Splinter?

I think Krang from the FW series would be into Madonna and other female pop acts. Just like he's into cheesy soap operas like John and Marsha

April... no idea what kind of music FW April would listen to tbh. I have a feeling she's not that much into music. She comes across as a kind of person who lives for her job and doesn't really have hobbies. I can see 2k3 April listening to bands like Muse and Radiohead.

Most Casey Jones versions probably are into rap music and nu metal. Possibly punk rock as well. I can imagine Casey working out to Pantera and Korn.

Bishop seems to have a more classy taste in music.Jazz and such.

Irma would definetly love romantic songs, no doubt about it

I have a feeling that OT April might be into love songs as well, she might not be as crazy as Irma, but she always came off to me as someone who's a little lonely.

Shredder would be an enka fan, with synth-pop being a guilty pleasure.
