Anyone else noticed Walter White? (and I beleive right to him is Pinkman)

Gotta post this here:
Spoiler:

Another cameo I found:
Spoiler:

Besides Walt & Jesse, in the row behind them, those are The Warriors.
Yup, they are:

Even the gang-gathering resembles the one from the movie, except Shredder doesn't got shot by street kid for the sake of fun.

And for those who are not familiar with Breaking Bad:

Btw, the issue was great, obviously, but I'm so much blown away by these cameos.

Here's my review on it, but yeah... I did get kinda spoiled by the Micro designs. I had a double reaction when I saw that last page. Like excitement and anticipation that they're finally in the main series and will be fighting the Turtles in the next issue.... and disappointment of the art style and the fact that that's the way they're gonna be drawn next issue....

Yep. I am now excited for issue 28. Really hope Slash gets to throw down with Bebop or Rocksteady. Don't care which one, just titan versus titan. Story is progressing along well now.

My thoughts:
I was not expecting Victor to be offed considering the Savate were built up slowly and he was only around for about 3 apearances. Is this it for the Savate ninja? We never got the background the group.

Victor's offing brought Leo out of it which is good. Perhaps he will be able to fight Bebop and Rocksteady?

Great Heisenberg cameo! Hope we see him get punched out next issuE. I thought copyright issues would prevent this awesome cameo?

Casey Jones is well enough...to take on his father? Should lead to some great dialouge. Angel has got to say something in front of Arnold Sr. About Casey being hurt by Shredder in the first place.

I was disappointed that Casey did bust onto the scene yelling "GOONGALA, GOONGALA!"

Cool issue, great action and a good momentum builder for the final issue.

Spoiler:
I wish Victor had been used more fully. We didn't really get to know him, so when he was killed I didn't feel any kind of emotion other than dissapointment (because we got hints of how cool he could've been).

I liked seeing all the ingrediants come together for a crazy explosion of a finale, I can't wait. I also can't wait for a slower paced arc, for some breathing room- it may be less frustrating to wait a month between installments if the story isn't moving at a such a break-neck pace.

Really good issue! Super exciting! And I love the covers!

Spoiler:
Alopex and Victor were/are very, very under utilized. Leo's coming around, and his moment with Raph was sweet. Karai, Bebop and Rocksteady were super badass at the end, as was Don, Hob and Slash! I hope Hob is okay, because he was becoming like my favourite character!

Casey against his dad! Intense! I hope April gets to do something.

I have come to the conclusion that I really like Santoluco's art, except for the way he draws Raph, Mike and Don. They all look really bad and weird.

I wonder who will be dead by the end of this arc!

I actually noticed the Storm-ish person too, but I wasn't sure if that was really her, or not... I'm actually not that familiar with the character's backstory, does she had something to do with street gangs or organised crime?

Just for fun... there were turtles in Breaking Bad too:
Spoiler:

The dude standing behind him is named Schrader. ...not Colonel, BUT IT CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE!! (well, it is)

Almost forgot: Both TMNT and Breaking Bad has a character named Victor, and they're both
Spoiler:
killed by the top crime boss of the city for power demonstration purposes. And both with blades.

Dude. I definitely noticed Walter White, but the Warriors totally went under my radar. That's awesome! I was even thinking that that scene reminded me a lot of The Warriors when it was happening. Thanks for pointing this out!

Here's my full review of TMNT #27 at TMNT Entity

When it comes to penultimate chapters, I kinda prefer to hold my tongue and save all my collected thoughts for the big finish. I can't say that there were many surprises in this installment, but I don't think there were supposed to be. This was "the plan coming together" and all.

One thing kinda made me go "huh", though. Does Casey have two hockey masks?

Hun makes a big deal about returning his hockey mask (the angular one with no perforations that he wore at the start of the series) in the Hun Micro. In this issue, Angel returns the hockey mask he lost outside the Skara Brae in TMNT #22 (the round one with the perforations that Santolouco's been drawing since Secret History).

Was there supposed to be some symbolic moment where Casey chooses between the two masks? Because he doesn't really spend any time making a choice (since thee really wasn't any choice at all). We just end up with these two big moments where someone returns Casey's hockey mask and it doesn't really mean anything.

(I get hung up on the stupidest things, I swear...)

Yeah! In the 80's Chris Claremont wrote a story in which she wrested control of the Morlocks (a gang of mutants who live under the NYC streets) from their leader Calypso in a knife fight. She left Calypso in day-to-day control of the group, but was technically the leader of the Morlocks for the next decade or so. It was brought up periodically.

Loved that panel. Lots of cool cameos.

He says to Angel that his dad dropped by out of the blue trying to be nice, giving him a new mask and talking about his new job, etc. He doesn't accept his dad's peace offering (new mask) or the story (compare his reactions to getting a mask in the micro from Hun versus issue #27 from Angel). Angel returns his original mask, one his dad gave to him in a better time. He keeps that one.

As for where the other mask his dad gave him is (the new one)... the trash can, maybe? Who knows? It's just gone, baby... gone, gone, gone.

Talk soon...

Tom W.
