Ok, so anyone who bought BTTS on DVD from Australia, did you have any funny issues playing it on your players? I tried to watch volume one on my blu-ray player, which I "hacked" if you call it that, so I could play multi-region DVDs and the machine kept shutting itself off during disk playback! I can't help but think that the so-called "hack" isn't workin all to well or the disks I got are crap

Oh, it was a local electronics shop in Dubai. I don't think it has any branches in the US or Canada. Though I've seen region free DVD players being sold in Carrefour over here too. Dunno if there is a Carrefour in Canada though?

My DVD player is a Toshiba SD3010KB. It's easy to use, I just load my region 1/region 4 dvds into the player and they play no problem, no need for hacks or codes.

Those 2k3 DVDs are getting a bit pricey on Amazon now. Season 2 Part 1 is going for $1000-$2000. Good luck to anybody starting to collect them. Started watching my 2k3 DVDs at the start of this week, currently on the last disc of Season 4 Box 1. I have to say I do notice the difference in picture quality of the Region 1's and Region 4's. The picture of the Region 1's looks nicer by far. Also noticed the sound ain't as loud on the Region 4's as well, had to turn up the volume 3 times as much as the Region 1's.
Only problem I noticed with 2 of the Region 1 discs is that during the intro part it freezes for about 5 seconds but once it starts playing again the rest of the intro and episode are fine with no trouble. This freezing issue happened twice. Once at the start of "A Better Mousetrap" (Season 1 Part 1 Disc 1) and once at the start of "What a Croc" (Season 2 Part 1 Disc 2). Thankfully the freezing did not happen during the episodes. Other than that no problems at all, enjoying the 2k3 series. I'll be watching the OT DVDs next to make sure there's no faulty discs. They are all available somewhere. My collection is now compiled in the computer in the correct order .
I am rewatching these, and am now into S3. Lotus Blossum's second episode. If they do a complete set like the OT van, I'm in for one, even if I do have them all already . |

I got my region free dvd player online...they sell a lot of them on Amazon...for example, this one: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ultra-Com...ree+dvd+player It's about $38 with free shipping. Of course there are others on Amazon, just type region free dvd player & you'll find a bunch. |

I wonder if there are any TV's with built in region free DVD players. I like the convenience of having both appliances in one.

Just finished watching the 2003 DVDs. When I played the episodes again (the episodes that had the freezing at the intro part) there was no freezing this time, strange not complaining though lol Still love this series as much as I did the first time I watched it. Plan on watching the OT next.

Maybe, the 2K3 series will see a similar release to the OT series, that would be cool.
I'm half way through the 4th season and having fun watching them (again). So, a Battle Shell truck for these discs please! |
